Its Time For Trigg To Resign.

Have always thought Triggs abilities were better matched with either hosting " deal or no deal " or selling used cars on Main North Road. As with Chapman, he is a Banker, what more needs to be said. What our club needs are some people with integrity and a lack of self interest. Would you buy an 86 Magna from Steven Trigg if your answer in no then it is time for him to resign

Anyone worried that we might've done another side deal between Trigg & Board to minimise the penalties? Leopards, spots and all that.

Keep some things hush hush, Trigg and Harper take the blame in exchange for being looked after.

All fine except if that is the case, we have lied to the Commission and risk getting penalised all over again. Another ticking time bomb to worry about, and all it would take is one disgruntled Board member or administrator with knowledge to blow the whistle.

So we won't be able to sack anyone, ever.

Chapman chose his words carefully when it was going around. It was all about "getting the best possible result for the AFC" - never about exposing the truth and holding those responsible to account.

With respect, I don't think this is anything new. Personally I don't think there is any doubt deals were done, people took falls. You don't deny everything, load up with top QC's, then roll over as they did if there were not deals. There was far more to it than we will ever know.

That's fine if the deals were between us and the AFL.

If they're between Trigg/Harper/AFC however

If we didn't reveal all to the AFL and it gets found out later...

I think there has to be every chance they were between AFC and the individuals. Once that was resolved the deals start with the AFL. It's possible the AFL we're in it earlier.

Don't forget how this played out and what we do know. Trigg vehemently denied wrongdoing. Was looking forward to hearing so his name could be cleared. At this point club backs him and appoints Counsel. Criminal defence Counsel. It was reported that Counsel were demanding TP contracts from all other clubs. It looked like war.

Then it goes quiet and very suddenly we announce a deal with the AFL and Trigger/ Harper fall on their swords. It makes no sense, never did and never will. It can only be explained by deals.

And I don't think there will ever be trouble with it because the AFL we're up to their necks in it

The "support" mechanism speech sounds to me like Trigg will be performance managed out of the club. In the end he might even give it away himself and we'll sell it to the public the same way we did with Craig.

Not before the Adelaide Oval transition of course....

Has he ever apologized?

At the end of a long winded diatribe about how badly persecuted he had been he did give an apology but only when prompted. In his eyes he didn't really do anything wrong and was only acting in the best interests of the club which leads me to believe the board were in the know.

To be honest, I'm abit over the negativity. As a club this is the lowest point in our history and to me it feels like, until Trigg/Harper are removed and we have an accountable Board in place, the healing process/rebuild can't begin.

Wtf is with the 19th man assists? We had one last night even before we scored a goal. Cringeworthy shit is the 19th man concept
I believe it's when the opposition misses a set shot. The idea being the "19th man" causing a ruckus was the reason for the miss, so they get the assist.

Oh yeah, it's very clear now that the entire board knew about the contract and the extra deals. In fact, I feel the board knew about it all.
Unfortunatley, this appears to be the case. Trigg has been protected as he took one for the team.

It won't be til all those related to this mess are cleared out, that AFC can finally move forward & not have a dark cloud hanging over our heads.

Apparently the board went over Triggs for a game of poker, the board lost, Trigg won $50k

What I don't get is Chapman stating Trigg was overloaded. How can being overloaded have anything to do with dodgy deals, the cover up and saying no to the Brisbane trade?

Hey...shut up. That'd probably be the level of explanation you can expect.

It certainly puts a cloud over every guy this board and Trigg hires though.

exactly. it's just untenable. his position, what he did, what he didn't do. untenable i tells you.
If there was any ounce of proper accountability with running AFC, you would be correct in saying his position is untenable. There would be some who can't lie straight at night...

Replace the board with club sponsor & you may be closer to the mark ;)
