Its Time For Trigg To Resign.

To play the devils advocate, it would be pretty easy for the horse to fabricate that story to defend his actions, being verbal means there's no audit trail, hence no way to prove it either way.

You would think that cancelling a written agreement verbally would be a risky way of doing thing ?
If I owed a mate 10K and we had a written agreement, I wouldn't accept feel comfortable that the debt had been paid until I had a written receipt.

Basically, either the horse is fabricating the verbal change to the agreement, or he's bloody stupid for not getting it in writing.

Regardless of that fact surely the fact there was an illegal agreement there in the first place that needed to be retrospectively terminated is a cause for concern in itself.

Agreed.

Horse was stupid and too trusting.

And Chapman's role in all this was....?

Where does the buck stop in the AFC? What is the diffference between David Evans and Rob Chapman?

If he did know then he should go. If he didn't know then he should have known. If he should have known and conveniently wanted to bury his head in the sand in relation to negotiating the contract for our highest paid and profiled player at the time then I seriously query what exactly is his role in the club?

He should be gone!

Wonder if Ziggy could pop over to West Lakes for a quick spin around the AFC governance processes?

Or Adelaide could hire an Adelaide friendly person to run our internal review. ;) Worked for Essendon, apparently.

Of course you do! You won't get any argument from me.

I know there is a long back story to all this, and I'm not at liberty to share. For me, though, it answers some of these questions (but not all). And while the cynic in some of you say "well that's a convenient story", I know the man well, and I am confident he is telling the truth. But like I said before, you'll believe what you want to believe. It's just nice to hear this come from another person other than me.
so why is the AFC doing this disservice to Trigg and not simply telling the truth?

we have already gone through the worst of it, surely letting people know what happened is a pretty easy job to do.

Couldn't care less whether he did or didn't try and have the agreement rescinded after the fact. He shouldn't have made the agreement in the first place. It's so bloody obvious it was a bad idea for a myriad of reasons. It's not like he's the work experience kid, he's an experienced CEO FFS, he should have known better. In doing so, he's potentially cost this club a tilt at a premiership in the next few years. He should be gone for that alone.

Because it's the truth. I know it's not what you want to hear, but it is what happened. Trigg's biggest mistake was to not get that in writing. Blucher's excuse that he "could not recall" the conversation where Trigg called it off was that he was "going through a break-up with his wife at the time" so he was too emotional to recall things. You only make up excuses like that if you have something to hide.
Doesnt matter believe him or not as our club still got done over badly by AFL for doing the wrong thing.
Secondly why should we believe him anyway as he openly lied to all concerned for many months until truth was found out.
I have no doubt that the severity of what occurred to our club and the effect it had on club will be seen as much much worse than even we think in years to come .
Coming from another view point just think how hard is it going to be for Sando to get the type of player he needs in that crucial 2 nd and 3rd year of coaching .
But not only stuck with most of Craig players but is he going to be stuck with the Clark and Bickley etc handover coaches as well

And it was conveniently a hand written letter - ah, no electronic copies! ;) Of course if it concerned him that much, and he hadn't heard back from either Hird or Evans, wouldn't you think he'd say "hey, how come you didn't respond to my letter?" So many convenient things happening...
Yes, you would have thought he would have followed it up &/or mentioned it in conversation with Evans given they often saw each other. They are giving us the impression he was isolated from this performance crew & hence left the club. I gather he had a falling out with The Weapon.

We've been through this a million times.

Trigg may have said to Blucher that we wanted to back out of the deal.

But it never happened.

We continued to pay Tippett the illegal payments - even after Trigg had supposedly rescinded the deal. And up until trade period 2012 we were still going to accept a 2nd rounder if push came to shove.

The deal had not been annulled at all.

We perhaps wished we didn't make it and hoped it would go away but we were still living it.

Carl, we didn't pay illegal payments to Tippett, we had agreed to underwrite shortfalls. There weren't any. You've already made up your mind so there is no point arguing.

It's interesting to know other team supporters believed we were slapped with a wet lettuce leaf.

Trigg wasn't lying because he was saying what he believed to be true. Is that so hard to understand?

Last point on this. Trigg was on holidays when Reid made the deal. When it came across his desk he rang Blucher immediately.

And this is equally bad, and there were shortfalls, and we were organising extra payments such as funelling club sponsor dollars to Tippett, hence the emails between Harper and the finance guy.

There's no point arguing because you're wrong.

Don't worry - if Reid was still at the club we'd also be calling for his head just as much if not more than we have for Trigg

What!!!

Not man enough to do it yourself?

Team decision mate. And I can't anyway. Plus was done under their watch and if I decided to advocate it the key would be his willingness to respond to the issues he had left unresolved with them.
He really had every chance to keep himself from being banned.

I can't imagine Stabby holding a grudge
