Its Time For Trigg To Resign.

That's rubbing salt into the wounds don't you think?

What do you mean? There are many forms of membership. The numbers the AFL and club pull out are all forms combined. Im just saying it explains why their crowds are so low some times and no where near 40k

I hope you are not serious. You have to remember why he is stepping down.
Considering the Bombers are yet to be punished (or even found guilty of anything) i would suggest he is stepping down for the lack of mgt oversight on staff to allow these allegations to occurr in the first place....sound familiar. The only difference is that Ian Robson dowsa not have his best mate as Chairman.

Will be interesting to see what the bombers punishment is (if any) seeing that it has claimed the scalp of the CEO. I have a feeling they willl still be in all drafts and the punsihments will not be as harsh as that bestowed on the AFC. Will make the keeping of Trigg even more a basket case.

How can Rucci leave this alone, he would rather focus on a random facebook page that wants to boycott the AO, just when we need him to rip into the AFC.

I'm not sticking up Trigg's conduct one bit. I believe he should step down but only when a suitable replacement is found.

However to suggest we should hire a man who oversaw an organisation who made a practice of using illegal substances is just ludicrous.

That was my whole and only point.

More ludicrous than retaining one who was personally and directly involving in breaking the rules of the competition the penalties for which place our club at a huge disadvantage and which may be the difference in our future success?

Perhaps we should be aiming to have a CEO that hasn't overseen conduct that breaks the laws of the game, rather than shifting from one to another.

Yes it would be. It would be the worst move our club could make.

Yes lets fire Trigg and go hire Robson who oversaw illegal drug taking and may yet be subject to sanctions by the AFL and the law. Yes this make a huge amount of sense.

There is also a difference between one indiscretion and a whole systematic failure.

Once again I am not condoning what Trigg has done and how the club has handled it but to do what you are suggesting is just crazy and stupid.

Like Rendell, Robson's brand will no doubt be tarnished and so he'll be off the scene for a little while but I'd be very confident that someone will then pick him up and he'll do very well for that organisation.

"Overseen" would indicate personal knowledge - and hence approval (or the proverbial 'blind eye'). But from my reading of that is not what happened here. The football department (or persons within it) without the knowledge or consent of the CEO or Board have carried out these actions.

Robson has now taken the fall as he is accountable and should have known - but my personal view is that he comes out of this situation far better than Trigg does from ours.

Just watching the Ian Robson press conference - class act. Think we could do worse than appoint him to take over from Trigg.
Not sure about him taking over from Trigg, but at least he took responsibility for the stuff ups, even though he allegedly had less involvement than Trigg in Tippett-gate.

I think we are already grooming our ex-#7 to become CEO.

I'm pretty incompetent and old people love me. I can start on Monday.

Heard this on the radio and immediately thought of this thread!!

I am very surprised that he could walk away from his job. He had tended his resignation months ago and it wasn't accepted so I thought that meant he couldn't leave!! (so Jenny would have us beleive:))

In all seriousness it is nice to see someone with a shred of integrity put his hand up and take responsiblilty for for what has occured "under his watch".

Highlights again how pitiful we have handled our situation.

Where else is he going to a job that will paid him the same amount as be makes now?

Why would he quit? He should have but that's a very different issue.

Don't blame him for stating but the board needed to have some nuts and sake him.

Interesting to see that Don McLardy resigned today from the presidency Melbourne Football Club, yet no one at the Adelaide Crows was held accountable or we have not moved anyone on.

It's actually quite upsetting that Trigg and the Board are going to keep their positions after what they have done to the club. It is a real feeling of hopelessness. There have been a few low points in our history but for me the return of Trigg will be the lowest point in our history.

He's either complicit, or completely ignorant of what's going on within his club. They're almost as bad as each other.
