Its Time For Trigg To Resign.

I always took that as confidence.

And they were right. We guaranteed the payment, believing there was very little chance we'd ever have to, and we didn't. We didn't realize the weight of that guarantee.

And, while it's no excuse, I'm pretty sure all clubs do this in one form or another with their stars. Buy them a house, or car, or find them a paying job with a sponsor (think environmental ambassador) or yadda yadda.

We did.

That's exactly what Fabulous Phil got caught red-handed doing - panicking that we were short on what we'd guaranteed, couldn't include any more in the cap otherwise we might go over and that's when we "tipped" money from existing club sponsors into Tippett's pocket.

I would prefer channelled or diverted. Tippetted at a stretch.

People do tend to believe their friends, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. I am not a fool though and I've asked questions if I had doubts about anything I've been told. I will be honest and say I don't think I was told the whole truth - but that what I was told was true.

Every incompetent executive on the planet has friends, acquaintances and distant associates, none of this makes them less incompetent.

The guarantee is the breach, its straight out cheating. you have to wonder how we intended to make good on that guarantee if there wasn't room in the cap.

If the guarantee wasn't declared, we sure as **** weren't declaring the under the table payments if we were over.

If we were confident we'd not have needed the guarantee, we could have just paid him straight up

It's absolutely gobsmacking that people try and explain this away as anything other than straight out cheating. It's like the Rendell sacking and excusing trigg claiming it was vlads decision. I don't get how some people can ignore basic common sense just because the issue belongs to the footy club they follow.

Some Essendon supporters have this down pat. #standbyTurd.

I'm not convinced the worst case scenario is going to hit the bombers, but I can understand the potential to delude oneself if that result would have most of the list banned from playing for 12 months or more. That is some pretty depressing shit. But all we're talking about critically assessing a few decisions made by a very replaceable CEO/chairman/board. Whether the transgressions should have resulted in terminations is up for debate, but surely the legality/spinelessness of those actions themselves are now beyond doubt.

I think you're misunderstanding what we were confident about - not needing the guarantee is not the same as paying it. But we SHOULD have declared it, especially as we never needed it.

Maybe I'm misremembering, as I don't remember the part DABM mentioned about reassigning existing sponsorships - but the conversation was "you can make another $200k in being a brand ambassador for Adelaide businesses." "But what if I don't?" "mate, you will. Have you seen this town? But look - in some fantasy world where you don't, we'll make it up."

Doesn't matter if you were RIGHT and he did make the cash, offering the safety net was the problem.

Of course - the fact that we discuss this level of regrettable incompetence as if it is the same as a program of secret human experimentation is laughable.

Ours is the equivalent of driving 85 in a 60 zone. Essendon is the equivalent of driving at .15.

It would be highly doubtful Rendell's indiscretions were anywhere near in the same ballpark as Trigg's stuff ups!

The fact that the Rendell saga became anything more than a 30 second discussion at the front bar is just as much an indication of a decaying society as it is a decaying Adelaide Football Club.

However, society semi-redeemed itself when he got a job at Collingwood. AFC - still decaying.

Wow - an interesting article with reference to facts - who would have thought Rooch was capable
Really? I don't see anything in here of journalistic value at all.

Just petty jibes trying to invoke the usual Crows VS. Power shit throwing contest.

The information is important, but asking AFC supporters to compare our current "down" situation with the Power's "up" position of the cycle is kinda stupid. It happens the other way too when the Crows are up and the Power are down, doesn't make it any less ridiculous and irrelevant.

He could have written the article purely about AFC and it would have been fine, but he probably gets a thrill from links in forums and comment numbers on the website. Its like mentioning something Anti-Apple in every bloody tech article hoping that it gets picked up by the swirling throng of hyperventilating apple-ists.

The 2nd article shows Chapman is deluded in thinking his internal accountability review will make everything ok. If he was fair dinkum it would be conducted externally by no mates. His attitude only smacks of arrogance or he is seriously stupid - either way - he needs to go for the good of afc.
Just read it and thought what the ****, he needs to go as well. Comments such as:

"But my contact today with the clubs key sponsors and key supporters suggests there is not too much dissatisfaction with the way the club is run"
Ok, who are the key supporters? The Crows ambassadors?
Not too much- WTF, so there's some?

And too cap it off:
"Steven is still the right man while we have some big issues to resolve- such as that very important Adelaide Oval review next month"
Is Steven God?

Our admin makes me want to puke.
