Have we really reached a point where people are getting upset by innocuous comments like this?

Assuming OP is also one of those proposing we change the rule to "holding the person"

I still can't buy the idea that he is a monster for wanting to return home to be around his family and his mates, whilst still being employed in his chosen profession.

I know it sucks to lose a great player to the go home factor but all clubs will face this situation at some point. The better you run your club the less often you will lose a required player.

It is notable how much more often the 'go home factor' is felt by players at crappy clubs.

I think there are 2 questions.

1. Do I want to stay where I am?
2. Where do I want to be?

I'd say the vast majority of cases it's in that order, but people like to pretend that the 'go home factor' is due to it being the other way around.

Players/clubs/managers/etc go along with this little white lie because it's better for all concerned to avoid the player saying he's actually leaving because the joint sucks, and fans buy it because they don't want to believe there is anything less than wondrous about their club.

In exit interviews staff leaving an organisation, the major reason given is an intolerable working relationship of some kind, often but not always a boss.

It only takes a couple of f..wits in a leadership position to create a toxic culture where people want out.

The Crows took Gunston's Best Young Player award off him once they found out he was levering.

There's no class at that football club.

I'd like to think that was a decision peculiar to the Trigg/Noble regime. Would have been a fairly hollow feeling for Talia when a accepting an award that didn't belong to him.

Poster accuses Crows of disrespecting departed player.

Crows fan defends the club by blaming departed officials.

:straining:

Hahaha name dropping won't help you save face. After speaking to Al I can now guarantee you've made this whole thing up. If he'd spoken to you multiple times he'd know who you are.

You mean facts?

Ok. :thumbsu:

Mate, I do know him and I have spoken to him, and I will be speaking to him in a couple of months. But I can grantee one thing he does not know me from a BF profile. And I doubt if he would ever call me a friend.
By the way I was asking if Tyson going OK at Coburg, Can you answer that question

3/4 of people change jobs due to their boss. I’ve done it.

Sorry I'm not relaying any more information to a bloke that has to pretend to know someone to try and make an argument.

Not pretending to know the bloke, and if you know him you will know he has a habit of talking about his son when asked.
I have spoken to him on several occasions. simple as that.

He says you're full of it. I know who I'll believe.

Good for him, or you. I don't really care, I know the ballpark figure in what Jake was Offered and what he accepted.
But pointless continuing I be over on16th to18th March for the Oceania Open, maybe I'll catch up then.

Aggression against a team mate in the players' race is one thing.

Aggression against the oppo on the ground is entirely another.

The nose rub into the turf was a nice final flourish.

You keep saying that like I care. I don't care how you're pretending to have spoken to him, even though he doesn't know you and you wouldn't expect him to know you and of course your not friends but he told you intimate details.

Lol.

I was a skeptic about the way he left Adelaide but since than I've read The Draftees over the off-season (which covered Lever's draft year) it make me re-think my judgement and recognise that he is definitely a strong family and mates orientated guy and would have felt segregated from it in Adelaide.

Not the first player to feel that way and won't be the last.

Came from an upbringing that wasn't easy but he was provided for well.
