Not that this is the place to discuss Hendo but what's the bet he becomes alot more productive in the forward line when Waite returns.
Yep, he can play more of a lead up role instead of deep forward and also have the second best KPD on him.

I absolutely agree that Hendo's performances will lift with the inclusion of Waite (for the reasons the S_C provided), however, similar to the situation of Waite playing back in 2009, i don't think we can afford to start Henderson in the forward line against Richmond.

I'd be more Confident with

White - Reiwoldt
Thornton - Griffiths.
Henderson - Vickery
with Laidler loose man in defense.

Than

White - Reiwoldt
Thornton - Griffiths
Laidler - Vickery.

those match-ups probably won't be likely, but hopefully you get the jist of what i am saying

Thornton plays his best footy playing as the loose man in defence. Laidler, although playing his first game back, should account for Griffiths pretty easily. This allows us to glue White to Riewoldt and plonk Thornton in between the 50m line and goal square to chop off any incoming deliveries. Hopefully this will force Hardwick to push Riewoldt up the ground to get touches, thus limiting his influence.

The real danger in this game is how many Richmond midfielders can go forward and snag goals. Sticking our tackles and applying pressure through the centre will be key.

Simple Waite will play fwd and hendo will go back, hendo ineffective as fwd whilst the mc are adamant Waite is to be settled as a fwd
Wow, setting up 3 of our 6 third Q goals vs Swans is "ineffective"?

Tough audience.

......and WTF is this doing in this thread?

Just a word on Jammo. With these types of injuries, playing on will have made zero difference in the outcome.

Just out of curiosity BB, what would have been the logic in sending Jamo back out onto the ground? He was clearly limping when he left the ground, and the medical staff worked on him for a fair while.

They would have had a pretty good idea it was a meniscus tear, but they vary in terms of how well you can move with them. With their being very little chance of doing further injury (barring the same sort of even that casued the first one) I suspect it was more to do with structure.

Sometimes when you tear them you get a little fold or flap, and that can flip back over and all of a sudden you can move pretty well. So initially they would have been hoping it did this.
When it didn't they had to shuffle the deck chairs to see if we could have him up forward and fill a hole while pushing Hendo back.

So the logic of it was more to do with team balance and what they could try and get away with (and partly hoping it might resvolve to some degree). Clearly, when it wasn't resolving or flipping back into place, and his mobility continued to be a liability they pulled the pin.

I think clubs have learnt from the Cameron Ling incident and don't want to pull the pin too early on a player, especially one that is as vital to our structure as Jammo.

From memory, didn't Jammo get caught by a knee which caused the injury?

If so, that's just bad luck.

I don't care if it's 4 weeks or 6 weeks, as long as he is fit and injury free come the finals. Jamo is (IMO) the single most important player in our team. At this stage, he is completely irreplaceable. Will be interesting to see how we go over the next month without him.

Whilst I never really thought we'd have an issue with Richmond, I did think that if Riewoldt got enough ball into the F50, he could do some damage. Well, we all know what happened yesterday.

This week will be another test without Jamo with Hall, Jones, Grant and Gia all dangerous forwards. Need to get our matchups spot on this Sunday arvo.

Slightly worried about our backline's ability to hold up without him, against the stronger teams.

Icke has come out and said he could be out for up to 8 weeks.

B ugger. :thumbsd:

Get better soon, Jamo.

Friend echoed what Icke had publicly said. However, behind closed doors a genuine fear is he is out for the year. He may be back for the last round or so but if that's the case without being match fit and firing with the bye so close to the end of the season they may focus on 2012.

Who knows what to believe .........

Jamison faces eight weeks on the sidelines

CARLTON'S defensive linchpin Michael Jamison could miss up to eight games after surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his knee.

The Blues had hoped he would miss only four to six weeks, but it is possible Jamison won't return until Round 22 against Hawthorn.
If he misses that game, Jamison's next chance to play is Round 24 because the Blues have the bye in Round 23.

That could leave him entering the finals with one game as a lead-up.

If he comes back round 22 that means he will get 2 AFL games under his belt before finals to reach match fitness. In our bye he could play VFL as well, giving him 3 games before finals.

Let's just hope we can keep our ladder position. Jamo can be our secret weapon for the finals.

No, 5 weeks from last week. I would be very suprised if he wasn't back by the Demons game, if not the week before.

Let's hope so. Needs to get match fit for finals if we are any chance at causing an upset.

All jokes aside this could be a blessing if hendo develops as hoped and bower could come in and find form this really could be a positive.

In addition atleast if he isn't playing he can't do a shoulder my biggest worry is him doing a shoulder.

Blues football manager Steven Icke said last night the club would not compromise on Jamison's recovery.
"He had a meniscus tear, it got repaired and it will be somewhere between four and six weeks and if it's slower, it will be between six and eight weeks," Icke said.
"It will be what it is.
"We have some pretty good rehab programs, which we think will get him back sooner rather than later."

Doesn't sound quite so bad. Hope it's only 4 weeks.

I had two minor tears in both meniscus and I could still get around fairly well... no limping or anything. They probably were just making sure that there wasnt any clicking or anything locking. Sending him back out was a minor risk but if his knee had come good again, it would have meant we hadnt lost him for an extended time. If he had gone back out and the knee had locked, it would be a 12 month injury rather than just a short period of 6-8 weeks
