SELDOM-USED Sydney forward Jesse White has requested a trade from the AFL premiers.
White, recruited from Queensland after spending most of his junior years playing basketball, put together an impressive 20-game season in 2010 but has fallen down the pecking order and played only three matches this season.
White is contracted for another year but, given Sam Reid's development, the recruitment of Tommy Walsh and their potential to snare Adelaide forward Kurt Tippett, the Swans are happy to facilitate a trade.

I would have loved for him to kick on but probably a smart career move to try and find more opportunities. Hopefully he does well and makes it as a player.

Just didn't develop as we had of hoped. I wasn't his biggest fan by any stretch, but i hope another club will take a punt on him.

Fair call, I'm a fan but he just didn't make the most of his limited opportunities (this year). I was very impressed with his ressies form however and may have found his niche in the ruck rather than a forward.

Naismith or whatever his name is?
Still way too raw.

Actually if Tippett comes to our club, not sure how but let's assume he does, then a ruck division of Mumford, Pyke, LRT, Seaby and Tippett would suffice.

He may be raw but I'm happy to quote you..."possibly a younger one that will come through in a few years".
He's 19, 208cm and has plenty of time to develop.

Imo Seaby is gone!

Hmm White to GCS for some some draft picks??
The one thing that Gold Coast do not need are tall ruckman/forwards. They selected about 20* of them in their first draft

*close enough.

Good luck Jesse. It didn't work out for you with us, maybe it will with another club.

True but one with first team experience, would be something different for them.
They had one this year in Josh Fraser, played in 2 senior games despite solid form in the NEAFL. It's clear that their main priority is getting games and experience into their kids.

Possibly 2nd round if they throw in someone like Moore to sweeten the deal.

I dunno, i reckon the club will have Moore stick around. Apparently highly thought of around the club.

But you might be onto something. Package Seaby, White, Spangher for a 1st or 2nd rounder somewhere, you think? :p

Was destined to happen. I'm surprised he's still got a year left on his contract. Didn't we give him a three year deal at the end of 2009 after he'd shown promise in the second half of that season? How'd he manage to get a contract for 2013?

Probably some time last season when GWS were reportedly sniffing around him and would have been able to grab him as an uncontracted player at the end of this year.

Best move for both the club and the player, he tried but just couldn't deliver when needed.

Best of luck to him at whatever clubhe goes to hopefully he ends up somewhere he can get more gametime still reckon he has potential but he's just didn't make an impact when he played.

I was pretty keen to see him get another year as a ruckman considering he sounded like he was coming on in that area in the 2's this year. Oh well, that experiment is over then. I'd still back our club to do better with him than any other club.

As Grim says, either Seaby is given one more year or we go find a younger guy, probably from the VFL/SANFL/WAFL to mould - I doubt the club would pluck an 18 yo from the TAC or anything like that, doesn't seem to be their style.

He showed a lot of promise kicked 5 against Carlton at Etihad and had a good game against WCE as well dont remember if it was 2009 or 2010, good luck to the guy :)

Had very high hopes for him at one stage and it's a shame he couldn't carve out a spot for himself in the team. I hope he gets a trade to somewhere else and does well.

Pretty sure we've already seen an article a few months back saying Moore had been offered a non-playing position at the club and from memory he accepted. Can anyone confirm? Just haven't got time to track it down right now.
