Bartel definitely! He can play in most positions, has great skills, is a great contested player and delivers week in week out.

Not that Cooney doesn't, but Bartel for me!

Agree with this. Both excellent players, but hardly see a bad game from Bartel and has been consistent for all his career. Cooney on his day is a superstar but has been inconsistent.

He is labeled as inconsistent yet has got 20 plus possessions for 35 games in a row now

He is a pea heart who played the 2008 finals series with a fractured knee cap and all of last last season with O.P

Saying that the tagger proves Cooney is better than Jimmy is flawed IMO, it only proves that there is a better person in the team.

You can't blame Jimmy for having Ablett in his team.

If there was another player better than Cooney in the WB team, they would get the tagger.

But your point does reflect that its hard to compare two players, one which is tagged and one that isn't.

At their respective best i would take Cooney but Bartel delivers at a higher level more consistently. Although Cooney will always get no1 tag at bulldogs, whereas Ablett gets no1 at Geelong and theres other players that might even get no2 tag at Geelong eg Selwood. So i reckon if i had to choose one for my team i would go Cooney although the difference is miniscule, i just see him as more of a matchwinner whereas Bartel is more your top level consistent player.
