Out of interest, who out of the following do you think would be favourite to get the prized signature IF Judd was to leave W.C.E. Being a Carlton supporter although clearly he is the best player in the competition and i would love to have him, i think that W.C.E may be asking for too much for him (naturally) and his pay packet (800,000 --> 1,000,000p.a). There also might be a cause for concern when contracts come up for renewal. We have the second youngest list in the competition so will the signing of Judd enhance or subsequently damage our chances of keeping this young group together???

For mine i didnt think that Judd would leave, but now with this new issue with cousins, embley, chick i dont think that he will be there.

Dont vote for your club unless you genuinely think that there is a chance.

Cheers

I think he'll choose a Vic club he likes (be it for Premerships or supported when young) and WCE will work a deal with them.

I can't see him screwing WCE and going into the pre-season.

My question is: Who did he support pre WCE days?

I don't think he will return to victoria,my bet would be Brisbane or Sydney for the anominity.

I hope he comes to the tigers, but it'll depend what draft picks you have and who has no.1 pick in the pre season draft and Judd himself.

I too feel he will come back to victoria but we wont know who is in pole until he end of the season.

Collingwood. I love the Twigley-McGuire idea that some crow fan came up with :D

He's expressed interest in North.

Most likely he'll go there.

That would be the Hawkers ;)

Why would he go to the Lions?

I would like to think he would be interested in the dogs and IMO we could afford him. Hear me out.

Grants retirement.
Montys retirement.
Darcys pay cut from 600,000k a season or there abouts.

That would give us enough room to make an offer but im not willing to give the world for him. 700k max. And then theres sorting out a trade....

believe me he'll be asking for more than $700,000.. if he leaves his contract will be for at least $900,000-$1,000,000 a season

Anything under a million won't be looked at.

Which Vic club has the most salary cap space? Once you work that out, you'll get the answer.

Judd would command about $800k to $1 million dollars a year. The club salary cap for this year is $6.943 million (Sydney gets 7% more). This will increase to $8.225 million in 2011.

Every club will be working out the sums for such a deal and would have to restructure player contracts to get Judd. However, if the Eagles delist Cousins and/or Kerr with the retirement of Chick, they will be able to comfortably give Judd a hefty payday.

You can guarantee that Collingwood will get mentioned, but as usual something will go wrong and that will fall over, ( Lockett, Gehrig, Stevens etc.)
The Bombers seem to have enough bait to offer, and plenty of coin.
They have Gumby, Jetta and Ryder all young West Aussies and all highly rated.

Well I think Richmond, WB, north, carlton and Melbourne would be running at 95% or below, so thats about 350k of space free

Carlton will not have any new veterans list players but i would say Murphy and Kennedy will get significant pay rises.

Richmond will probably lose Gasper at the end of the year but he is on the veterans list so i dont think they will gain alot and no one will be eligible to get on it.

WB i think grant will retire opening up a spot on the Veterans list for Johnson or Darcy so they might have some free cap. I actually forgot about aker how much would he be on??

North if archer retires a spot on their veterans list will open up but im not sure if grant is eligible??

Melbourne maybe if nietz retires they would get an extra spot on the veterans list. Probably for Yze

But then again i think a lot of teams will find space for Judd!

I'm salivating at the thought of him going to the Dons. Imagine in a couple of years time Judd, Houli, Jetta, Monfries and Gumbleton in the same side. :thumbsu:

Having said that I think he will go to Melbourne.

I have heard its the dees an hawks, but i think dees for his club. Judd wouldnt go back to the hawks anyway, if i was him i wouldnt go to saints or hawks, they passed me up so stuff em.

I think you'll find it was the Hawkers, making the 2001, Hodge/Judd thing a touch ironic... :p ;)
WRONG WRONG WRONG.
He has red and blue in his blood, wears the #3 as he loved Gary Lyon, and keeps a keen eye on how the dees are going.
The midfield will be so dominant. Judd, Mclean, Moloney, Jones, Bate, Bartram, all very young, then add Johnstone, Davey, Mcdonald.
Wont put Bruce and Green in there as I would trade them and 1st rounder for him.
