There was a reason Judd only made the AA bench last year.

Why is that? Because the first half of season was forgotten by the back end? Montagna as a starting mid ahead of Judd is one of the more damning All Australian gaffe's of recent times.

MVP and Coaches award had him top 5 mid if I'm not mistaken (that would be starting 22) and that also lands him firmly in the territory of deserving Brownlow winner. Anyone saying otherwise hasn't a clue about the award.

As to the thread, Juddy in a heartbeat ... emphatically so if we're talking about every season he and Chapman have played. As to the Ablett side shoot, I'd take Judd at his best and over his career, but Ablett from late 2007 until last year.

Mate, have you watched junior play for the gold coast? He is ripping it up playing alongside kids....trust me, able is every bit as capable as judd, and until last year I was in judds corner given his achievements at the weaker Carlton, but 10 games into this season and its already obvious, ablett just has more to his game...both are superstars, but ablett can and has done more in terms of being able to consistently score and setup goals.

FWIW, the Judd v Chapman contest is in fact, NO contest. Judd is MILES ahead of Chapman!!! Not even close IMO!

Judd v Ablett on the other hand...all I'll say is that I love watching both play. I would be happy with both. Ablett's test is now that he has gone to GC where he has to stand up and become a little more like Judd with the Blues. At this point in time, given he had a very limited preseason, it's looking good.

Ablett underperformed for the first couple of years, take a look back at when judd first came on the scene, you would never see a 20 year old ablett burst through packs the way judd has.

Lack of quality forwards and a strong defence like geelongs was what favoured ablett overall.

Geelong had quality forwards in Ablett as in nathan Ablett, steve johnson, cam mooney, tom hawkins where as west coast would rely on lecras and priddis to help out lynch.

Today was the aboriginal stars, but if you bothered to take your head out of your rear end and actually watch the blues play then maybe you could talk.
Judd won the game in sydney earlier this year off his own boot, games against the swans in the final last year would have been a blowout if judd didnt play.
He has been the difference in many carlton games since he has come on board the last 3 years.
