so the clan tag is TE ??

that's gay as lol

but it will do

the word evolution is pretty sweet though
The tag will probably be eVo.

ok well that's pretty cool then
DUH!

The R2 one is having a bit of problems though, we can't seem to get Team Evolution or just Evolution, so we are brainstorming to come up with something different, but we will still have either Team Evolution or Evolution for K2.

The annoying thing is that Evolution in R2 is taken up by a clan of 1 guy! So maybe a little bit of persuasive language could get him to vacate the position.;)

Pre-order Killzone 2 at JB Hi-Fi and you will score yourself a pretty damn cool T-Shirt, also the game will only cost $89(Regardless of whether you pre-order).

EB-Games don't seem to have any offer yet.

I don't mind it TBH, I really like the design and it isn't your typically nerdy game T-Shirt, I usually wear large anyway so that isn't a bother for me.

I'm back from my holidays and I've had to read over a page of threads. :(

Reading some negative comments on this game:

• The objectives – Blow up communication towers, plant explosive charges, defend Johnny Useless team-mate, Guerrilla have more brutally killed the box rather than thought outside it for most of the game’s objectives.

• The level design – While levels are fairly linear in the way they’re laid out, usually offering clear, channelled progression, we still got lost quite a bit. Pressing up on the d-pad points you in the right direction, but, if level design were clearer, you’d naturally know where to go.

• Your AI team-mates – Aside from enjoying running in front of your gun, getting shot and needing to be constantly revived, your team-mates constantly grate by dropping relentlessly tiresome F bombs.

• A lack of memorable set pieces – The first five levels feel like a bit of a slog at times, with many trench fights or pitched battles in city squares. The pacing just can’t match something like Half-Life 2 and, as a result, the action gets tedious at times.

• ‘gamey’ – Many battles with the Helghast end with you having to trigger some sort of event - like having to walk to a certain point to activate a new stream of enemies or a new setpiece. It’s all a bit entrenched in contrived game logic. That, and the story is a load of clichéd sci-fi pap.

Where did you get those comments LLD?

the feedback on the beta has been overwhelmingly positive so far, some reviewers even claiming that the beta was close to game of the year for 2008.

Pre-order at EB and get a tin case.

Tin Case > T shirt. Only fatties will get the T shirt.

THIS IS HELGHAST!!!

the t-shirt sucks (imo) but i'm not complaining when i'm not paying :thumbsu:

Some PS3 magazine has already reviewed it and gave it 5/5.

i'll have a look on the net now but i never trust reviews on anything from people on the companies payroll

always inflated scores (even though i'm sure killzone 2 will get solid scores across the board)

At CES '09 Guerrilla Game have finally let slip of Killzone 2's campaign/story mode length and it is stated that it will be 'an intense 10 hours'.

Source: http://www.gamecyte.com/ces-2009-gu...-single-player-campaign-will-be-10-hours-long
During the Sony presentation at this year’s CES, Guerrilla Games’ Hermen Hulst was talking about their upcoming AAA title, “Killzone 2.” During the presentation, we got to hear more about things we already knew. The game will feature destructible environments, the camera will mimic the player’s eyes, dynamic music, etc. One piece of information given, though, is something we haven’t officially heard before: “Killzone 2″ will offer most gamers about 10 hours of single-player gameplay.

Of course, the number could go up or down depending on factors such as difficulty, your skill level, and whether or not you want to collect all the trophies. 10 hours single-player on average for a game of this nature isn’t bad, though–especially when the multiplayer will last much longer. And for someone like me who doesn’t have the privilege of hours of free time each day, it’s the perfect length. Hit the full story for Sean’s photo of the presentation slide with the news.

Just a few more weeks left now before the demo is out. In the meantime here's some more hype from the neogaf forums:

They're the best end credits in the history of anything projected onto a television.

I invite aggravated discussion on the matter when the game ships. I submit that it's better than anything EVER put to video. But then I'm a huge a design whore and it basically r*ped my face and I weepingly accepted that it wins. For teh evar.

Also, you have to have actually played the game to see them (I don't mean in general; they're probably there from the start, but if you've played through the game, it will not only make sense it will blow your mind. The intro and outro to this game are cinematic gold, and I challenge anyone to say otherwise... Which sucks, because that's an open invitation to...well, uh, waiting. I'm not kidding, though; the credits roll is scary good. I hate how much better at design the EU peeps are than us. My graphic design classes were wasted.

I apparently want to be hired by Sony or something because I'm whoring hard. Back to lurking...

10 hours is a good length....long enough to make the gamer happy but not long enough to get super pissed that it's going for too long (i'm mainly talking fps here....half life 2 pissed me off a bit coz it went for so long.)

and that lil quote from arecsa was beyond awesome
i absolutely LOVE awesome intros and cutscenes and endings and now i'm even more psyched than b4!

That's a fair statement to say the best end credits ever, would be very surprised if it could beat Portal's(
The cake is a lie

It was only a matter of time before it was said.

KILLZONE 2 SURPASSES CRYSIS
During CES, Sony demonstrated the latest build of Killzone 2 for the PS3, which is set to ship out next month and suffice to say the game looks jaw dropping. Everything about the game was phenomenal from the details, physics, graphics, audio and gameplay. I did not think I would say this so soon, but Killzone 2 may be the first console game to surpass Crysis.

When Crysis first launched on the PC it was hailed by many to be the best looking game on any platform. It certainly was the best looking game in terms of sheer graphics, but the game still received some criticism for presentation. Killzone 2 shatters Crysis on all fronts not only with presentation but physics, details and graphics.

The last time I had a good look at the game was during the phase 2 beta. Even then, the game looked phenomenally better than any game developed on a home console. However, it seems like the developers spent their time wisely by improving the game by two folds. All of the minor nuisances in the game have been tweaked and improved beyond belief.

The floor of the air carrier now has vivid detail. Rico’s head is also visibly shinny with sweat and the wall textures still look excellent close up. It really is difficult to describe what an improvement the game has gone through. The best thing to do is look at the video clips coming out of CES to know what I am talking about.

Killzone 2 not only sets the bar extremely high in all aspects on the home console, but manages to look better than one of the best looking games on the PC. Guerilla Games has really outdone themselves with a game that is said by many to be genre defining. Although, you don’t have to take my word for it, just Google it to read the impressions of the game being written by other reviewers.

Better than Crysis? I highly doubt it.
The physics will be at most on par, the audio possibly better and the graphics no where near it.
I think K2 is heavily drowned in motion blur, which gives the perception that the textures are impressive. I have no doubt that it will be the prettiest console game ever released for at least a few months before the other big name exclusives arrive.
