Didn't you see the comparison?

Yeah, not exactly a massive noticeable difference.

And they're all those shots (seeing as they are from identical angles/scenes) are obviously all from cut scenes anyways. Shrug

Really? For one months extra dev time there is a huge difference, cleaner, smoother, brighter and more detailed(The 5th picture, 3rd from the bottom, really shows the difference).

Are you saying that it wouldn't relate to the actual in-game action?

Unless they managed to line up every single shot, with the characters in exactly the same spot, with the same expressions on their faces....those shots are all from cut scenes which means its pretty hard to make a call one way or the other.

Either way i don't think the differences are that spectacular

Looks sick mate. No doubt

But i probably wouldn't avoid downloading the demo because i was worried it would look inferior to the main game, based on those shots

I'm not impressed with the demo. Don't like the way the game plays in campaign, but it could be really fun on multiplayer because of the tactical nature. I think it will be a real 'clan' game though, because tactics will be so important. Kind of like how CS was infinitely better in clan wars.

Best looking game I've ever seen though.

Not nesisarrily referring to the Killzone score but just look at the other scores. Seriously.

Sorry, I should have made that title clearer.

Edge is a popular video game magazine in the UK.

The '199' is the issue number.

With those scores I don't see why they are popular.

Btw, in that issue they have a "Making of: Hellgate London". That game is like 2 years old, terrible magazine :p.

Yeah sorry, but I can't see FEAR 2 being better than Killzone 2, but I would like to actually see the review and what their reasoning is.

Should also be mentioned that Fallout 3 received a 7/10 from Edge too, so I don't think they have much of an idea about reviewing games, interestingly too, they gave GTA IV a 10/10 and just so happen to also have an ad on their site saying that Rockstar Games are hiring people.

But if it's as good as(Or better than) Fallout 3 then I'll be happy.

I would have given GTA IV a 6. Crap game.

They gave LOTR: Conquest a 2?

WTF? I mean I haven't played it but SURELY it isn't that bad?

I know, I was going to say about that too, they gave Haze a 5/10 and LOTR: Conquest a 2/10, so that's certainly saying something, that said though 2/10 is basically the worst a game could get, and from what I have seen of LOTR it does look a bit fun at LEAST!

Thats a laughable review of fallout. The bad points it brings up to justify the low score are so minuscule as to be insignificant.

Its like having a delicious steak dinner, and giving it a bad review because the plate wasn't the right colour.

ok well i went around to a mates house today to lend him my external hdd so he can copy movies and to give him my other ps3 thats laser is dead to sell to a friend of his and what do you know......
when i got there he was in the middle of playing the demo of KZ2......(i was going to be staying at his house all day anyways....)

so yes....i watched him play through it twice then i myself played through it 3 times since well......it was there.

first off i have to say that no console game has ever looked close to this yet ....those reload animations almost made me blow my load they were that good looking!
there is always something interesting and awesome going on and those explosions are just incredible.....also the sound is a thing of beauty!

now second off.....................the aiming and movement is possibly the SHITTEST thing i have ever felt in any fps......my dear god that was horrible!
when running you have the turning circle of a f***ing truck!
i tried fiddling around with all of the axis's but never found anything i was completely happy with.....
honestly with handling like that i have no idea how the reviews were so damn good....i mean it was satisfying when you could connect your shots but i will need a SHITELOAD of practice....
i may be exaggerating a TOUCH but for someone who can usually hit an enemy in milliseconds i found myself taking 3 seconds or so to even get a decent lineup! :|

the enemy ai as has been stated before is incredible but on another point it is a little annoying too....
with the aiming being so damn sluggish and the enemy constantly on the move it becomes a lil difficult to take them out (well it was for me anywayz!)....a n00b like me needs them in one spot damnit!

also one last little gripe i gotta add.....the no prone is a more annoying factor than i imagined...i really hope a patch in happens/is possible.

i know the multiplayer will play out alot differently and am still really excited for the game as a whole (i wouldn't have played the demo 3 times if it wasn't good) but the whole feeling of the weight etc..wasn't as i'd hoped....

i need alot of practice.

That's all it is, you just need to get used to it and learn everything the game has to offer, and remember not everything has to feel/look/play like COD4, that's where adapting to your games comes in well.

TBH though I haven't had any real problems with aiming, in fact I am finding it quite simple, going through my 2nd, 3rd and 4th run throughs I have been getting alot of headshots(Around about 10 per playthrough), so I'm gonna pwn in multiplayer:), most of all I love being able to fire from the hip when in a closer range, although I have to get used to using that as I am always going into the sights, which can stuff me up on the closer range kills.

I sort of agree with the AI too, but that gives the challenge in the game, numerous times I was getting ready to flank a guy as I had seen him go into cover, and by the time I had gotten there he was in another spot, or had rushed me, it is really amazing seeing AI that would basically do what you would do, instead of the same monotonous shit!

Just on this, I don't really know why this is a big factor for you, but if it is for multi, I don't think it will matter, as there won't be many places where you really need that going into prone factor, otherwise if it is for story mode, the cover system works well enough IMO.

yeh through the course of the single player i have no doubts my skills will get tonnes better with it....during the second and third playthrough the accuracy was considerably better but god damn it was frustrating for me!

i'm still not going to bother downloading the demo on my own ps3 but alot of practice is definitely required for this one

You said you played around with the sensitivities, did you keep them at any certain setting that you found better than the other, or less frustrating? I find that full X Axis is best for myself.

And what about the going prone thing, "Just on this, I don't really know why this is a big factor for you, but if it is for multi, I don't think it will matter, as there won't be many places where you really need that going into prone factor, otherwise if it is for story mode, the cover system works well enough IMO."

yes i was mainly thinking for multi where you are close to death after a one on one running away from a group or something and near cover....
just to get a bit of your health back to get up and run after going prone.....
the way the crouch is your head always seems to be above any cover and it just felt odd in the moments i was close to death in the demo trying to go prone so i was completely out of sight and it just didn't happen...

to be honest in the demo i never tried the cover coz i more cared about getting the accuracy right but the cover system isn't in the multi so that makes it a tiny bit tougher to re-gen....

not a game breaker at all but just a tad odd as it would be so simple to add.....(tap once to crouch....keep holding to go prone.....easy :))

yeh i played around with it a bit but when i have the game disc in my ps3 i will try and perfect it so i have it right for multiplayer

when x was full i would end up WAY past the guy as it felt like it was barely moving then all of a sudden it was 4 metres past him! :|

i found i needed it closer to the middle more to start with since i was having so much trouble with it but still kept fiddling.

the demo was short so i need more enemy time to understand what works better fully

also i answered about prone in my other post that you wouldn't have read yet

Seeing as though it's one of the (very) few console FPS I've ever played, I'm glad it's just the game and not the normal control scheme. Though I found it much easier on my second playthrough and I'm sure once your a couple hours into the game I'll have no issues with it.

Though it is a pretty frantic way to kick off a game...

80 bucks at Harvey Norman if you pre order over here...just fyi.

Probably similar offers around
