Not judging right from wrong but Aboriginal Tribal issues are next level to what New Australians face.
It’s not new to them either. They are protecting a past which is way longer than our own.
It’s actually sad that White Australians don’t understand it.
Again. I’m not saying it’s right but it’s what’s happened for hundreds of years

You love reading the latest threads on Indigenous people like Jurra and Stack. Is that your hobby?Jurrah's a thug that belongs in jail
sharp450 You find racism against Aboriginal people amusing?Jurrah’s action are deplorable and my heart goes out to the victim but I need to comment on something. A lot of the of white world is against Aboriginals. Some Aboriginal communities suffer badly from that.
Jurrah's a thug that belongs in jail
The bloke that wrote that used Jurrah to promote himself - he is a self congratually flog who contributed to Jurrah being the way he is now. He wrote this book as a massive pat on the back to himself and paraded Liam around like some sort of circus sideshow act.
Yeah, nah. Everyone can comment that machette attacks are ****ed and he should be locked up. Pretty simpleYou can't comment on his behaviour unless you go and see what the conditions are people like him live in
The people he attacked live in the same conditions mate. You can't comment on his behaviour unless you go and see what the conditions are people like him live in
His actions were wrong and he is paying for it as we speak both in the Australian Way and his Traditional ways
The people he attacked stabbed a family member in 2010 which started the feud in the extended Jurrah Mob.The people he attacked live in the same conditions mate.
There are victims and there are scum.
He's not a victim.
Poor LiamThe people he attacked stabbed a family member in 2010 which started the feud in the extended Jurrah Mob.
Traditional payback was not permitted so the feud keeps simmering and as an initiated man within his mob he has responsibility to fix problems.
Unfortunately grog has taken its toll and is a big player in how this feud keeps playing out and how Jurrahs behaviour has been appalling and has effected how he treated those around him even those on his side of the war . It is a more nuanced than a mad man running around with a machete .
It is a tribal war with its own set of rules which conflicts with the law of the land we know.
Not condoning his behaviour at all but wish the grog was taken out of the system there.
We have an issue , we go to the cops and make a report. In the remote communities this does not always happen and also police dont get involved until it escalates to something nasty , traditional payback still happens and does end disputes.
Just offering this as an insight not as a defence. Something has to give.
The feud will continue even without Jurrah being there and more harm will still happen.

Martin Flanagan (and his equally obnoxious brother) and the elite types of Inner City Melb/Sydney are the reasons why Aboriginal people in the outback live as they do. All full of virtue signalling and more in tune to promote themselves than give help to those that really need it, yet they are lauded by the elite chattering class as "national treasures"
How do Aboriginal people in the outback live?
In s**t conditions as compared to those in the inner city who writes books about them and take nice government funded literary grants
That's interesting background. It answered a question I had about why his troubles started at that particular time and hadn't manifested earlier. The people he attacked stabbed a family member in 2010 which started the feud in the extended Jurrah Mob.

Wiki says:
In March 2012 Jurrah was charged over an alleged machete attack at an Alice Springs town camp.[23] He was subsequently found not guilty in March 2013.[24]
In January 2013 Jurrah was charged with drink driving in Adelaide after recording a blood alcohol content of 0.27%.[25] He failed to attend his court hearing in March 2013.[26] The case was subsequently finalised in his absence, with Jurrah being fined and banned from driving for two years.[27]
In March 2013 Jurrah was charged with four counts of aggravated assault in Alice Springs,[28] he subsequently pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful assault, and was sentenced to six months in jail time.[29]
In December 2013 Jurrah was charged with driving offences after being involved in a high-speed police chase.[30]
In April 2014 Jurrah was charged with aggravated assault for attacking a woman, causing her harm, and allegedly making threats with a tyre iron and a knife.[31]
In August 2022 Jurrah was charged after allegedly breaking into a house and assaulting a woman with a machete and is currently in custody awaiting a court hearing on October 13 2022.[32]
Are all these events related to the initial feud?
I have know folk whose "codes" lie outside the law and they observe it more closely than the law itself. In many cases they accept the legal punishments as part of living their code.

If he were white those same posters would be yelling for jail time. Racism doesnt only work one way...Interestingly, my Google search brought up the domestic violence cases at position 1. Now we've got 2 posters wilfully ignoring them becsuse it doesn't fit a narrative. He can both be caught up in a feud and traditional punishment scenario and be a piece of s**t at the same time.
Liam Jurrah jailed for at least four months
Former Melbourne Demons star Liam Jurrah will spend at least four months in jail after pleading guilty to punching his former wife and threatening another woman with a broken bottle.www.abc.net.au
No, i mentioned that.his offending hasn't just been related to the feuding though. He's racked up some domestic violence offences against his exes. I hope you're not ignoring that as being ok in that community. It's a massive problem.
Well thats an assumption thats wrong.Seems very conducive to society in 2023 /s

Is it though? Deep down you know the truthWell thats an assumption thats wrong.
It's interesting that the Parliamentary Voice issue is being discussed now, the premise is that the Aboriginal experience is "exceptional" so deserves an exceptional solution or response. From that point of view, treating Aboriginal and non- Aboriginal folk differently is justified. Not that anyone in this thread has suggested doing the same wrt Jurrah, but if they were to do so it would not necessarily be a radical position in today's environment. Is it though? Deep down you know the truth
