Keep an eye on the centre clearances, was excellent.

You can only see it at the game but his defensive running is poor. Just lopes. Doesn't follow his man at times. But hit the contest hard and didn't butcher it much - so an okay game. Nothing to be excited about though IMO.

Honestly did not notice him tonight. Very keen to watch a replay as i trust my fellow bigfooty posters points of view.
Were you at the game? I've got an injury so didn't go as I'd have to walk around a lot and didn't want to aggravate it, but I was very impressed with his ball winning ability in the guts watching on tele

He had his hands on it first regularly and was able to shovel it out to Daniel/Dahl etc regularly, simple but effective

Think a lot of our players are not able to play their natural game to the best of their ability due to the sameness of our personnel. We have too many players playing the same role and Jong is a victim of this. Not saying he is a good or great player but in the right role he can do a job. Just don't think he has had the right role until tonight.
In the tall division we have the opposite, with too few trying to do too much.
Love the idea of versatility but sometimes you just need to let a player settle into a role. Roberts is a good example of this as a role player having some continuity in the same job and becoming an adequate player.

Jong was good tonight. Not in the best, but very solid with a valuable contribution. Hit the packs hard; tackled and applied pressure; did some nice clearance work with good quick hands; not many clangers or bad decisions. Loved his block to get Stringer free and also the dinky kick off the ground to Dalhaus (I think), both in the last quarter. Those are 1% that don't make it to the stat sheet. Well done.

Hopefully he improves from this herein onwards for the rest of the season and really steps up in the absence of Wallis, Libba, Macrae etc. If he does, we might have to offer him a three year deal.

I reckon this might have been his best game for the club. Not saying he was elite or anything, but he did plenty of nice things around the contest and didn't turn the ball over as often.

Gotta appreciate how physically taxing the role Jong plays is though. Hit after hit as well as burst pace. Kinda understandable he can't always run around at full pace as well. The sort of player I reckon our other players would be very to keen to have in the side - if he wasn't there taking the punishment they would be!

Big game for the club (a mini final) and Jong stood up. He's a big game player this bloke. Fair enough to those who are critical of this pack crashing warrior but if anyone consciously decided to not watch the game, who missed this performance, has no right whatsoever to comment on Jong ever again. I couldn't care less how clicky this website is,we all made our call before this game and those decisions must now carry some weight rather than hot air and bluster. Jong talent time was wonderful and gave absolutely everything for our club this week.

not sure if mentioned but during a contest in your forward 50 last night he went out of his way to block stringers direct opponent which allowed stringer to peel off and subsequently take a mark uncontested which I thought was really smart play. Stringer didn't convert but it was a good play nonetheless

No doubt frustrating at times. But I just remember his rapid improvement when he came into the scene. Then he was hit with a (broken?) leg injury which kept him out for about a year a couple years ago. He was a solid contributor until the hand injury in last year's fantastic Sydney game. Like many you do sometimes question if he'll make it or not. But I want him to because you can see he has some special physical attributes that can really add to the team. Hope he can build on his consistency and further improvement along with his confidence.

My favourite moment of the game. The perfect basketball pick.

You know, its funny. I was reading an article about how AFL coaches seem to suggest Footy resembles closely to Soccer but I've always thought Footy resembles Basketball even more, especially with the emergence of rebound footy.

A lot of AFL players seem way more into the NBA oppose to the soccer. I don't think it's a coincidence that Victoria has the largest number of basketball players than any state compared to NSW who is more into soccer.

That was brilliant play by Jong Talent Time at a crucial stage of the game. Stringer had been pretty quiet up to that point and did get another couple of kicks after that. To bring one of your better teammates into the game and give him confidence was great footy smarts by little Linny. The block was sensational.

Liked his game last night. Was good in tight. Games like that are going to have the pies and tiges druelling.

It's pretty important we sign Jong Talent Time now. We are going to be playing a lot of finals in the upcoming years and one thing the haters keep failing to mention and that Jong Talent Time keeps showing is that he is a big game player and the more heat in a game the better he is. Finals are a different ball game altogether and Jongs finals record is already brilliant because his attributes suit finals football.

Much better game from him last nite although not hard when your coming from where he has been.

Good in tight and cleaner hands, kept mistakes to a minimum. He is tough as nails but I've never questioned that.

Still does nothing when not near the ball and his defensive running is non existent. Also slows up play at times but that's what he is so can't expect anymore.

Plays like that he is sure to get a spot on a poor list but still miles off IMO .

Agree, also add in zone defence, fast breaks and controlled tempo, all imbedded into Basketball.
