Yeah I thought you had leaked points early in the season but seem to have shut up shop more recently.

From my uninformed perspective Keane is very good. Michalanney is a good shut down player. Hinge is well respected around here and a good kick. And Milera can rebound well too and seems to be over his injuries. Not a huge amount of big name star power in the backline but absolutely getting the job done. Maybe short a good tall back to be absolutely top line
Well gee, imagine if they had a fit Doedee.

Crows won 37/48 qtrs.. We won 27
We only won 6 last vs 10 for Crows
Not going to be easy
Everyone might say they had some easy games. We lost against Demons and Drew against Roos.
Not like we flying. Out of the 9 wins I say only 3 games we played well Suns, Tigers and Hawks
Our winning margins 45,33,28,21,19,18,17, 9 and 4
Crows 90,66,63,61,60, 36, 18 and 5.

True, we're going to find out whether this team indeed lifts its level up when a challenge arrives.

I'd put Berry on Dawson and let him go wherever he goes.
We need to invest sometime into shutting him down.
I don't think that will happen
Dunkley the most likely.
From memory last year Dunkley went to him in the drawn game, but Dawson won that duel. Dawson 27 D to Dunkley 22.
In the next game Dunkley kept Dawson very quiet compared to his usual output. Dunkley 35 D to Dawson 16 D.
A draw quirk in that only 6 rounds separated those 2 clashes.

Berry is our best winger, and we really missed that defense and drive forward in the North & Demons game.
Also, he has only been given a few tag roles over the last few years to my recollection.
Last time was for under a quarter v Nic Daicos.

If our defence is at close to their best we should win this. Their forward line is definitely their match winner.
Our midfield should be able to account for theirs.
I think that Adelaide is weak defensively. I have only watched them a couple of times this year but both times their defence really let them down.

Should be a cracking game the lads should be really looking forward to playing in.
I'm feeling a bit odd with the game. I think we go in genuine underdogs. A win would be a relief and a confirmation of their ability. A loss, a close loss inside 18 points, I'd accept and think, OK there's some fight we're on the right track. Outside that questions need asking, players may need alternating, some experimenting before the bye. Try Doedee for Lester, Try Gallop for Gardiner, get Kiddy back in and Fletcher back to the wing.

Lots to play and win for. A win gives us 2.5 wins from most in the top 8, a buffer that will be handy on the tough run home. A loss and the Crows are just 2 points behind, half a win.

We should waltz it in now. That’s traditionally what happens after a coach sacking ceo sacking ceo leaving on good terms to take up a senior role within the AFL administration.

As a supporter you can see the challenge and a loss at this stage of the season could be predicted however high performance players and coaches really do see the opportunity differently at worst it is a great way to see what needs to be fixed before finals.

Serious question.

Who has the hardest to contain/best forward line? Them or us ?

If delivery is equal.
They do at the moment I think. It's more settled, better form. Balanced, roles are well defined.

We have a well credentialed fwd line, except for Gardiner. They have the runs on the board, been good for a while. Not at the moment though. Unbalanced, Hippy unfamiliar role and battling with it. Form issues, although I reckon some are turning it around. A fit Day might help that settle, but we gotta get more than 6 games in a row out of him.

I think we're a little unbalanced across the three lines at the moment.

In the backs we're missing Starce/Kiddy. That one genuine defender back and it's a better balanced, more effective back 7. Fletcher moves back to the wing, better balance across the middle with him, Berry and Bailey sharing the wing. Fletcher playing back has seen Levi getting wing time. Maybe that's wearing on the young legs. Probably good for his development in the long run but maybe of better balance playing mid/sm fwd time.

Just a cpl of players back and a cpl of players moved to a preferred positions is all we need to see a better more consistent performance.

Huge game!

Saw a crows poster suggest it's their biggest since the 2017 granny. The whole state will make a big deal of it.

Logic says we get up for this a lot better than dons given more on the line and 8 day break.

Looking at the ladder it's a massive game for our top 4 hopes, and i still reckon that matters despite our 5th!

Pies almost guaranteed top 4.

Cats the same, their draw in the second half is incredible.

Suns have the wobbles and a much tougher draw. Hawks the same.

Giants and Freo look okay but not playing well enough to go top 4 with 5 losses already.

Dogs have the side but not much margin for error.

If we win on Friday we go 10 points clear of the next most likely team to finish top 4 (imo) the crows. A win here would be more valuable than against Cats because Geelong's draw is so easy they could lose to us and could still easily finish above us.

I think if we hit the bye at 11-3-1, with Starce and Day potential ins and big improvements, we have set ourselves up incredibly well and it will basically be a top 3 by the end of the year of pies / cats / lions.

Their smalls all gut run both ways particularly Keays and Rankine. That's where they might get us. I know their talls are great on paper , probably better than any team , but they won't all fire .The issue is when Walker gets it he usually scores or delvers well and Fogarty is just deadly. Tilthorpe could be anything but already a force and rucks quite well.

When I look at what they have on paper it's crucial that our midfield gets on top in this game.

I don't think it is particularly close right now. It isn't the forwards fault entirely but our efficiency up forward has dropped off a cliff.

Midfield and defence is where we could get them. Basically need to win clearance by 10+ and contested ball significantly.

I'm tipping we'll improve dramatically on last week and being underdogs at the Adelaide Oval is a task we'll tackle with great relish.

Should be a fantastic game.
I love a good relish. 😋

Josh Worrell has had a breakout year, 195cm and Jordan Butts is 198cm. Nick Murray returns soon and he's 195cm. The smaller defenders are all around 190cm. Dan Curtin plays everywhere and he's 197cm.
I don't how that matches up with your forward line.
Interesting. I have no idea how the matchups will work from that. Our forward line is still a bit of a work in progress in how to replace Daniher and with the injury to Day we are struggling with the backup ruck role the most.

Hipwood is 203cm but more mobile than tall in how he plays. He's been doing more of the ruck back up work and its costing him a bit of run.

Morris is only 191cm but more of a marking threat. Maybe more similar to Fogerty?

Gardiner is playing a makeshift forward role as 194cm. I probably didnt know he was that tall? But clearly is learning for the role. Sometimes he is playing a more negating forward role rather than a proactive goal threat.

Rayner 187cm can play pseudo tall forward out of the goal square. While Lohman, Ah Chee and Cameron are all in the 180s and can be high flying they are small forwards.
