AFL Club
Adelaide
Other Teams
San Antonio, Redbacks
Delist

Mathew Clarke (Ret)
Ben Hart (Ret)
Chad Gibson (Look into redrafting or rookieing)
John Hinge
Luke Jericho
Alan Obst (Look into redrafting or Rookielist)
Tom Redden (Gawn)
Sam Elliot (I know 16 year olds playing at higher levels than U19s)
Brad Sugars
Adrian Bonnaido

Trade

Hadyn Skipworth (Still has some worth as an AFL footballer, just not at the Crows)

Delist:

Clarke (Ret)
Hart (Ret)
Hinge
Jericho

Trade:

Perrie
Skipworth

Regarding the rookies, Redden is already gone, Bonaddio and Sugars will be sent packing shortly, and Elliot should be retained.

Gibson has great potential; he can play forward and back, has lightning pace, can actually take a pack mark and always brings the ball to the ground.

This will be the hot topic now for the next few weeks, now that our season is over. Can you believe there'll be no game next week?? I hate the end of the footy season.

Delist:

Clarke (retired)

Hart (retired - should be made to for his own sake)

Jericho (love to trade him but I think he's a straight bye bye)

Skipworth (trade for a 3rd rounder - he's good enough for AFL)

All 4 rookies.

In your guys eyes how much time has Gibson got? I agree with Drummond in saying that he has great potential but potential means **** all if you can't string games together. So most of you seem to think he needs to take big steps next year for Norwood and push for Crow selection?

Trade Perrie for Pavlich

Unfortunately Pav is very unlikely to be coming back to SA.

I had lunch with his cousin this week, who confirmed what his dad told me at the beginning of last year.

Pav was planning to come home at the end of 2006 - contract or no contract - unless Freo started to have finals success, as he felt he was wasting his career.

Unfortunately Freo made the prelims this year, so Pav is happy that the club is on the rise, and is content to stay in WA.

If only Ayres had seized the moment at the end of 2002 when it was there to be done!! :(

Depends on what the Crows see as a reward for their patience.

Someone said he is learning to grow into his body and once that finishes his innuries may end

Alan Obst was drafted last year onto main list, he has another year.

Sam Elliott only playing u/19 as reserves have finished and he has to keep fit incase of call up to league.

All rookies have been let go from AFC.

Retirements
Matthew Clarke

Delistings
Jonathon Griffin (to be possibly re-rookied)
John Hinge
Chad Gibson (possibly but I would keep him)

Trade Bait - Not neccessarily to trade all of them but they are tradeable if decent deals came along
Kris Massie (deserves to play AFL football but could get sqeezed out next year)
Hayden Skipworth (deserves to play AFL but might find it tough to get a gig here)
Luke Jericho
Brent Reilly

None of the rookies should be retained.

You can't just blame Ayres for that terrible decision.

What about Hart, you don't think that he will retire? As great as he has been over the years I think that he should.

I am in the ''Hart to retire'' group

We have Torney,VB, Reilly and others if needed to take his spot.

Valued and worthy servant of the AFC but I fear its time

As slippery as a politician :p

Do ''you think'' he should? Not he will ..what is your opinion
I think he should and here is my reasoning that has been expressed a number of times before.

Prior to him breaking his arm in a freak accident against Ruchmond, Hart was in sensational form. He was genuinely in AA form. It took him 8 weeks to come back from the broken arm. He struggled for touch a bit which is understanable IMHO for a veteran coming off a broken arm. People seem to remember his form in the last couple of games and forget just how good he was before the injury.

I think he should play on for another year and see what happens from there. Let him have a good pre-season and I am sure he will be back in the same sort of form he was in before he broke his arm.

I think it will take a couple of days to formulate an accurate opinion on the state of the union, but initial thoughts are these.

Retire:

Hart
Clarke - both tremendous players over the years and should now bow out graciously rather than be dropped for poor form.

Delist/Trade

Not sure who is worth what to whom. Not even sure how many we can drop and effectively trade/draft to replace. But ATM these players in my eyes need to have their future with the club seriously re-assessed.

Stevens
Massie
Shirley
Jericho (although I'd like to see him given another chance, I doubt he will be)
Skipworth
Biglands?? (As much as I love the big fella, is there room for him with Huddo/Meeson and Maric?)

The other youngens that we (interstaters) havent had a chance to see yet I cant pass judgement on.

I can't understand why people are jumping on Hart.

Hart was in outstanding form before breaking his arm. He didn't have form when he came back in which shows that he should not be given the automatic berth back into the side, but should come back through the Roosters.

I say, if Hart wants to play let him play, but don't give him the golden pass.

Players need to know when enough is enough. Matthew Clarke has been in career best form, but he is under no illusions about playing on next year (with Huddo coming back and Maric/Meeson in the wings). Ben Hart needs to know the same. You cant hold a spot for sentimental reasons... and what we need to do is develop another backman as good as Hart, but faster than his old legs can carry him.

Quoting to show my agreeance.

If Hart plays on though, Massie has to be traded. He's been very good for us this year, and he deserves to play AFL, but I don't think he can fit into our team.

Massie to Geelong for Kingsley.
