Actually make that 205cm according to someone at the AFC.

He is now offically the same height as Dean Cox and just as good a mover

Wayne's World, The club has practicaly came out and said how highly they rate him and that he will be on the list next year yet you seem to think that he will be delisted

You really are a strange one ;)

.
Stiffy you have to remember I don't listen to Adelaide radio (or very rarely).....consequently Iam not influenced in my thoughts by any media just what I see.

If you go back to my comments when I saw him train I did say he was a genuine talent .....but in two years he has not put on any weight or if he has I can't see it on his frame.

That being the case he is IMO a further 2 years away from being a chance ....that's 4 years on a list, a rareity....

If Biglands had not been injured IMO he would have been delisted.....he's apparently won a reprieve and the clubs PR dept is now building the kids confidence up.

But to an outsider not influenced by the PR your exposed too...I simply look at the facts ;)

Sure sure! ;)

Griffin came to us at just under 80kg. He has put on 12 kg in his time here but has also grown 5 cm. AFC have ALWAYS rated this kid highly. They were singing his praises well before the Biglands injury so your conspiracy theory about the PR building his confidence up is, well, crap ;)

So hang on a minute, you have said that the club has come out to build him up after Clarke's retirement and Bigland's injury but he was apparently one in the delisting category.

Now how do you explain John Reid, in the middle of this season, on 5AA, when asked by Cornes where he saw the future of ruck going and the types of players we will likely see there in the future. Reid named Griffin of all the other ruckman on our list. JR's views and beliefs are that the future ruckman is someone who is tall, athletic and mobile and he named Cox as a prototype and he names Griffin as someone we see developing into that type of ruckman. Now from all the bloody ruckman on our list he chose Griffin.

You might not like the fact that you are wrong and god forbid should your stuborness allow you to say that you are wrong, but for a club that was apparently considering the player as a delisting candidate, they sure as hell gave him a HUGE endorsment.

205 cm now:eek:. Not many people grow that much after 18... Wasn't he like 196cm at the start of 2004 and then when we picked him up he was 199cm?

Didn't the club give a HUGE endorsement to Angwin :D

Stiffy mate you just have to stop getting hooked in with all the Adelaide media/small town hype.

As I said this morning I concurred with Rucci's article on the Crows ...but the offense you guys have taken from it is actually laughable

You do know that clubs attitudes are very changeable .....look at the Pagan board vote which went from 10-0 to sack him one day to him being voted to continue the next day.

Maybe at that point that Reid felt the need to endorse there was still uncertainty over the contracts of Maric & Meesen.

If we all listened to the media circus we'd go mad

Now, Wayne, believe it or not, I didn't have a problem with Rucci's article in the Herald Sun. Look at that thread and at no stage did I said I disagreed with what Rucci has written. I have posted there to have a go at the couple of trolls.

The club has been very consistent in the way they have publicly rated Griffin. From the moment he did that training session with us to this very day their opinion of him as a player has been constant and has never changed.

You are making one huge mistake here. You are comparing one of the best run club in the competition with a rabble that is in so much trouble that they don't know which way to turn to get out of it.

Yes the club has publicly said they were excited by the prospect of Angwin as a footballer. Angwin's shortfall had NOTHING to do with his talent. Absolutely nothing and everything to do with his state of mind.

Comparing Angwin situation with that of Griffin as somehow similar is so far off the mark its laughable.

No the comparison Stiffy is that attitudes can change very quickly.

Iam not denying that Griffin has bucket loads of talent ....but just as talent rich short players rarely get drafted so too skinny insect type ruckmen/forwrds

That's no slur on talent just his ability to realise it if he can't put weight on...and the club will alter their position accordingly

I will name him - Mini Wanye :D

As for Griffen I reckon he is a stayer - can't see them getting stuck with only the three ruck prospects especially with one of them coming back from major surgery

have be brought up John Hinge yet ? what are his chances of staying on ?

Now trade week is over and no changes have been made, the Crows will need to submit a list with a maximum of 35 players. With Clarke retiring and Hart being delisted, that leaves a further three delistings to be made, meaning the Crows will have at least one pick available in the Pre season draft and up to four in the national draft. Is that right?

I understand Obst and Pfeiffer have two year contracts till the end of '07 due to being picked up in the draft at 18 years of age.

So the likely delist candidates would be (in alphabetical order): Gibson, Griffin, Hinge, Jericho, Skipworth, Welsh and Vince.

Obviously with Biglands and Hentschel out for '07 you would imagine Gibson, Welsh and Griffin would be kept on the list for security and I'd imagine they'd want to have more of a look at Vince given he was drafted with a 2nd round pick last year so therefore the three likely delistings will be:

Hinge, Jericho and Skipworth.

I think someone will take Hart's place on the Veterans List meaning that only 2 delistings need to be made.

So I want to get rid of people in this order

Hinge, Jericho, Skipworth

So does an AFL list compromise:

38 senior players
up to 2 veteran players (can play any time during the season)
up to 4 rookies (need to be upgraded to senior list in place of long term injury to play during the season)

Meaning by October 31 the Crows need to submit a senior list of a maximum 35 players PLUS up to 2 veterans?

A question, was Bernie Vince not good enough to make the Eagles GF team or was he injured, I thought he looked good in the preseason cup and Reidy said he had Macca like skills early in the peice, where's he at??

has struggled to make the best 22 all year.

More weights, more food, big pre season, different club.

I dont buy the cr@p that people cant put on weight. I just dont. A bulking diet is hard to put together but damn easy to follow.

If anyone wants one (for instance if anyone at the AFC is reading ;) ) then I can provide one. I have a lot of experience in the fitness industry so drop us a PM and I'll send one through.
