Did Andrew Aish play enough games for Jams to qualify?

Could we get Bass to sit him on the bench for the next season or two?

Just checked, played only 89 games, and unfortunately we can't draft under F/S with SANFL clubs anymore either. *Sigh*

I have heard form my boss, that Heath Grundy is considering wether to come back to Adelaide to play, apparently at times the Swans wanted him to play forward but he wants to be a CHB, and would love to be back where his family is.
Source my boss knows his father. His father is hopeing like hell he will be traded back to the Crows, feels he would be perfect replacement for Davis. I did not even realise he was South Australian.

Bomb would love you to be right, but Grundy played **** all up forward.

Bomb, have to say that what your saying seems unlikely. TBH I'm pretty happy with Talia ATM and I wouldn't like to think about what we'd have to give up to get a player like Grundy...

Would make more sense if it was the other way around.

He was a forward for SA in the Under 18's. Assume he played juniors as a forward.

I think it's pretty obvious now with the current news of GWS wanting picks etc, that O'Meara is going to GCS for pick #4.

Considering I rate Wingard far more than Kennedy, Wingard will be able to play next year, and also he probably has greater positional flexibility and potential, it would be smart of us to use the Davis Compo pick, coupled with perhaps Armstrong (or our second rounder) to nab that pick 4 from GWS.

GWS seem to want A LOT for the mini draft picks as suggested by Rendell, and with their main target being picks, we really can't offer up something like our #10 pick. If GWS comes into trade week with the mind set "we have the top 5 picks, and 10 of the top 15" we might be able to get a pretty high pick off them with the Davis Compo pick holding pretty high currency considering were more than likely going to be bottom 6 for the next 1-2 years.

Whilst I recognize that the compo pick will be very useful to us, I believe we need to translate that into a strong pick this year as we need it now, whereas GWS might feel the need for more picks later down the track to even out the age groups of their list.

I would love us to get Wingard, but just can't see him being there past 6 unless Port give it up for Ebert. Nothing to stop GWS picking him up at 5 or 7. Unless he did a Cyril and said pick me, but I'll do a Gunston on you.;)

Heard a few interesting reports about Tom Sundberg, kid seems to have some real hope of being a pretty good AFL player. A mature aged rookie who IMO seems worth a rookie listing. Hope AFC recruiters have an eye on people like this, would be nice to get a Barlow-like gem in the draft.

I think I read somewhere that he had a poor finish to the season which will see him drop a bit in the draft compared to where he would have gone.

So - why wouldn't they just give us the O'Meara pick and not deal with the Suns at all? Seems a very roundabout way to go about it. They either want pick 4 or not.

Yeah exactly. Besides Davis compo pick would be of greater value than pick 4.

No where has it been said that GWS want picks this year vs next, just that they want picks.

Yep. You would think if there is one team that GWS don't want to do any favours, it would be the team that they will be directly compared to for the next few years.

Yeah exactly. Besides Davis compo pick would be of greater value than pick 4.

In fact, if they want picks due to running out of room on their list, you would assume it's compo picks they can stash away for when they delist players.

Interesting info from Ben Kennedy at the combine:
NOT THE greatest morning for Ben Kennedy, the Under-18 All-Australian from South Australia who is eligible to be part of the GWS trade next week.

He took time to come to grips with the handball drill, moving to the wrong stations and missing some targets.

Then over on the wing, he twice slipped over during the agility test, and ended up having to take it three times. He eventually finished with a time of 8.041 seconds.

But Kennedy deserves to be cut plenty of slack. He was the last of his group of small defenders/forwards to do the test and because of problems with the hardwood floor erected especially for the combine, it was run on the Etihad surface.

By the time Kennedy did his test, the surface was badly cut up, and there is little wonder he was unable to keep his feet, In fact, as soon as Kennedy finally completed his run, the testing station was dismantled and relocated 20m away on a fresh piece of turf.

Indeed, all the testing on Thursday took place on outer extremes of the Etihad surface, with the main part of the ground off limits ahead of the A-League season opener on Saturday night.

BTW WHE (Hoskin-Elliot) beat the beep test record today (15.13) which is pretty amazing. He will probably go up the draft broads now (e.g. Gaff) to a position higher than 10 so we can't draft him. Would have been a really good pick IMO. Hopefully he doesn't go too high up so we still have a chance of getting him.

When did you play with them? Can you provide more info on Kennedy and Toumpas from a character standpoint (work ethic, social skills, leadership ability) and from a physical stand point (Is Kennedy taller than 174cm, quick enough to make it at the next level, how do you rate his footy smarts etc...?).

16.1 maybe for Hill....freakish time. Only a handful of AFL players who could do that.
:eek:There must be something up with the surface they are using because this is getting into Olympic runners territory now. If that score is legit then Hill posses a scary level of endurance. Regardless, WHE seems to be a significantly better "all-round" player.
