How are these 2 blokes going in the vfl and have they at any time come close to senior selection throughout the year. Would like to see 1 of them make their debut this year.

I've been wondering the same thing, particualrly about Bate. I really liked him pre-draft and was hoping he'd end up at Hawthorn. Will be a very good player IMO.

Bate has been injured a bit and ha spent time in the Sandy 1's and 2's. Looks a likely prospect, could play key defence or midfield.

Dunn has shown he has great hands and has kicked a few bags for the Sandy 2's, but hasn't done much in limited gametime in the 1sts (that I have seen). Could be a CHF in the future but is a fair way away.

Dunn, Bate and our other draft pick (Newton) were the 1st, 2nd and 4th youngest players drafted last year, and all are talls. I doubt any will get a game this year.

yeh i think ND wanted to get young guys so they have maximum maturing time, knowing that they wouldnt be in contention for a game thi syear and they aint

I'm very interested to know what type of players they are. Athetlic, versatile, forwards, defenders, midfielders, creative, in-and-under, etc...

Bate is an absolute gun player, won best player in Tac cup as bottom age, is only 18 and will be a definite player of the future if he continues to work hard and beef up.

So we've got the 2003 TAC Coaches' Award winner Coling Sylvia, the 2003 TAC Medallist Brock McLean and the 2004 Morrish Medallist Matthew Bate. Impressive recruiting.

I still want to know some qualities about these players. I heard Dunn has a terrific set of hands.
