Nope, actually happened. On grand final day saturday he paid 25 bucks to try and ban my account from posting for the day. Literally had not spoken to the person despite 1000 likes and messages and no reciprocal contact.

Then out of the blue that!

Someone else from here got a paid ban for the day as well.

Unhinged!

Kane '119' Cornes called it Geelong's most embarrassing day in a while.
I did feel a little uneasy seeing pics post that gf performance, but talk about a stupid call from the Korn.

The boys had a good year overall and deserve to let their hair down as much as id prefer they’d sit around stewing and angry about the GF like me… 🤣

Mitch Brown is offended.

Such a delicate world we live in.

Guess Caro has got her opening now.
I get what Brown is about, absolutely. The fear for the next guy to come out, if still playing, is absolutely real. Totally understand.

I don’t see how the Danger and Smith post was homophobic. Yes see the resemblance and post to broke back, but really. Come on.

Let's be honest, it's just another chance to pile on the club - The Baz/photographer spat, the Scott presser (anyone know what actually happened there?), the GF loss.

More clickbait crap, that's generally all that passes as journalism these days.

If we won the flag, does it get the same reaction?

If that Caroline Wilson woman even hints at this being a problem I will be so angry. This is a fun, casual day for the players to unwind, they can dress however they want. Is this seriously an issue?

I thought Brown's response was great- honest without being preachy. "Losing a GF doesn't make you gay, but homophobia does make you a loser." I thought it was spot on. Empathy for someone who had lost and a reminder that being gay has no connotation with weakness.

It was ridiculous virtue signalling garbage by Brown.

What was homophobic about the post of Smith and Dangerfield. They're portraying a scene from a mainstream movie, but it wasn't the characters they went as. Does he also think the movie is homophobic and we should all ban it. It's a movie about two gay cowboys for gods sake. The "brokeback mountain" comment was not made in the context of ridiculing or shaming gay people, nor was it made as an offensive slur. It was clearly a reference to a famous scene from a mainstream hollywood movie - to suggest it was anything else is just plain and simply an absurd reach on the part of Brown.

What seems to have been lost on Brown (and others) is that neither Smith or Dangerfield dressed up and went as gay people. Smith wore a hat representing a Brad Pitt movie character - Dangerfield wore a hat reflecting the John Dutton Yellowstone character. But the photo-op with both players embracing was clearly a nod to a famous movie scene - and the first thing that sprang to mind was that it was a tongue in cheek nod to the often referenced "man love" between both those players in particular.

The world has gone truly mad. I think it's great what Mitch Brown did but he's seriously over reaching for relevance and attention on this I'm afraid.

Yep, I agree wholeheartedly with this. It points out an issue, but it's not "BURN HIM" kind of stuff.

A cheap Brokeback Mountain, hurr hurr gayyyyyy joke isn't the worst thing on earth, but we're not at a point in human relations where we are all so equal that we can roll with being gay being a punchline (again).

I kindof expected it from Baz, but from PFD, it's disappointing.

No the dressing up or pose wasn't the issue. It was the caption Smith posted - "or could be brokeback, this is what losing a GF does to you". It's not a big deal and Brown didn't make a big deal about it. But it's worth calling out. Had Smith just said "or could be brokeback, depends on how you look at it" - without the other comment, I think that would have been brilliant. Funny. Positive.
