I'm loving it so far and I've only just gotten onto the redone Normandy and had a snoop around.

For anyone who got the Collector's Edition, the comic book looks interesting and it seems to tie in the story between the Normandy crash and the 'present'.

The combat is much more solid. I loved the original one but I still found it frustrating when I was unable to shoot people with reasonable aim from a couple of metres away....despite being level 50+ and a freakin' SPECTRE.

They seem to have done well with these game by obviously upgrading a lot of things but making sure it felt very similar to the first ME. Even little things by keeping the main menu layout similar help.

I've also found that the PC performance is superb. I'm running on 1650 x 1050 on my laptop with everything on but AA and film grain (personal preference) and it not only looks better than ME 1 but it performs better. AA is barely needed anyway with such a high resolution on a 15" screen. I also like how everything is a bit bigger on the screen now, and the fact that you can sprint even when not in direct combat.

Finally finished it after pouring about 40 hours into it just for my first playthrough haha and good thing it paid off at the end :D.

Absolutely amazing game, I just cannot wait for number 3, they better be working on it right now is all I have to say haha.

Highlight if you want to know (SPOILERS!!)

::: Three of them get killed, I don't think you can help it but you mite be able too.

Got everyone out alive :). Make sure you upgrade everything, do all the loyalty missions and explore all the planets (not search for resources, just go into orbit) and get the side missions.

Just finished it and holy hell i loved the ending!!
It was great that you had everyone involved with destroying the collector base (although i did send Jacob back to the Normandy with some of the survivors :p). Since i destroyed the base rather than just kill all the collectors I'm wondering how Bioware will incorporate that into #3 and whether or not some people will have to be fighting against Cerberes AND the Reapers.

Yep, I destroyed the base too, but I didn't kill the geth in Legion's mission so I'm guessing that I'll have the support of the Geth and the Quarians in ME3 which will greatly bolster my fleet. Oh and the rachni too, almost forgot about them;).

Did you manage to save everyone?

Haha wow your game-path sounds exactly the same as me. Your Sheppard wouldn't happen to be Paragon would he/she? Yeah i managed to save everyone which was great but i don't think I'll be 'enjoying' the company of Jack in #3 since i chose Miranda over her. Brings me to another point, i shat my pants after i did Legion's loyalty quest and came back to the Normandy to find Tali and Him having an argument:o Lucky for me my Paragon level was high enough to keep both of them. Have you played with Zaeed from the DLC?? I have no idea whether or not hes any good but I'll be downloading him soon. I played through the bonus Normandy SR1 mission and found it a bit boring but had good atmosphere i guess.

Heh, it's either Paragon or nothing for me, I just can't pick a Renegade option or else I'll feel bad. I have to go as the good guy every time. If you had a romance in ME1 then your love interest won't be too happy, so Jack would be the least of your problems haha. "Dire consequences" apparently, so I'm staying faithful in my second playthrough :p.
Yeah, I downloaded all the DLC when I first got it and I kinda have to agree with you on the Normandy mission, even if it was cool to see what happened to the old girl. Zaeed's mission is pretty good, it's more action oriented than anything else but I never took him out with me since I liked other people better. The only time I had use for him was when you had to pick someone to escort the Normandy crew back to the ship. Figured I'd need a Soldier type and I didn't want Garrus or Grunt to go so I just picked him. Got them there so it turned out well :).

How do you unlock the inferno armour? I am on the site now, the bioware or whatever where you log in and redeem a code but it keeps saying its not correct. Lets assume that I heard the code right when gametraders told me over the phone (the reason for this is I pre ordered it last week but they didnt get it in until today so I got a normal copy on the Thursday night and told them to ring me the code). I typed it in caps, lower case, in fours e.g xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx and all in one but still not getting it working. I look at the instructions below and it says nothing about the inferno armour but i was informed this is how you do it. Anyone know whats wrong? I will ring em tomorrow as they said they'll hold it for me for a while.

EA/Bioware have mentioned that some of the codes might not be working properly and have an email address to accomodate for this. It should be on the page where you enter the code or quite possibly the one before it, I remember seeing it somewhere around there. Send them your code and tell them your situation and they should be able to help you out.

I somehow have lost my cerberus network account. Doesn't really matter, I did grab the DLC when it was available, just got to folk out another $16.95 to grab 1000 microsoft points (already have 200) and grab another code.

I'm trusting though that there will be some decent DLC's on the way

I can't find the email but i appreciate the reply. I am pretty dumb though so I probably missed it.

Just like to give a shout out to the person who decided that Auto Saves should probably save more regularly than like once every 5 hours. As someone who is rubbish at shooting games (and games in general) I quite like not having to replay half the friggen game everytime I get mowed down.

BTW here is a montage of some of the rude bits, if you are creepy and into that kind of thing. Gross

PS Tali is gagging for it

Re saving, If i see random crates and barriers up ahead that look like good cover you can almost be assured you're about to cop it. Its a lot like gears of war in that respect

"Why did they leave all this shit laying around all over the place"

#15 locusts and tickers appear#

"oh I see"

Pretty much every time i see cover up ahead i do a manual save. Murphys law states that the time i don't, a dozen Krogan warlords appear and blast me into space dust

Just finished it again on Insanity and Christ it was hard. Felt like beating your head against a wall most of the time, but finishing it gave me the best feeling of accomplishment especially since I got the ending I wanted....again :P.

If anyone's thinking of trying it on Insanity, be prepared to die. A lot.

Finished :) 38hrs I think roughly time spent.

Highlight to reveal: Did anyone get to level 30? I imported my ME1 character but it wasn't that high so I started like level 2 or something like that. I got to level 27 and I can continue the game but im quite sure I did all the side missions. I was full paragon, kept everyone alive and got with Miranda but Tali had high interest and I did tell her I am interested too but yeah. I think I need to start a new game with imported ME2 character then I start at level 27 then do a few missions if I want the level 30 achievement. I got most achivements (all you can pretty much get bar the biotic ones, insanity and level 30 one).

Fantastic game, destroyed the base but I will try renegade next, hopefully as a vanguard or something but I am a fan of the soldier type and I don't mind continuing it as a soldier. Great cut scenes as well just sit there intently while it all unravels, simply amazing. Renegade should be awesome fun though, sometimes I gotta disagree with the paragon command but I went for it anyway.

It took me 30 hours to finish and do every sub quest I could find, including all the planets. How the hell did you squeeze another 8 hours out of it?

I'm also 27, btw.

If you import your Shepard from ME1 you start at level 5 with extra money and resources along with alignment bonuses, but yeah I got to level 30 right before the final boss fight on my first playthrough (regular).

I really do not remember being level 5 and I did all the missions/assignments I could. How could I not make it to 30 :S

I went to every planet and was mining most of them until I realized I had so many resources that I probably wouldn't use so I just scouted them and read them all. Maybe I left it on when I went to do something, then again I am not sure if it would stop and say reconnect controller (I have a bad memory).

Disappointing if I started at 5 and didn't get to 27, I did all the anomalies etc.

I'm on 27hours and still haven't recruited my last member of the team. Heaps to do. I'll easily go over 30 hours.

When I said you start at level 5, I should've added that it's assuming you imported a level 60 Shepard from ME1. If they were anything below that, say 51-59 for example, then you would start lower which would explain the level 27 instead of 30, which I'm pretty sure is the around max you can get in one playthrough if you didn't import a level 60.
