Wouldn't mind at all using pick 23 on Suban if he's there, I like drafting kids who look to have good leadership qualities.
Hurley has tremendous leadership skills. We also got Myers last year who was touted as one of the better leaders in the draft. Having too many leaders is not a problem though:thumbsu:

Not at all.

I think they cope with the transition to AFL a little easier, and if we have Myers, Hurley and possibly Suban growing up together it would be fantastic for the future of the club.

Cant forget Pears :D

Tayte Pears has a big year and a half ahead of him...

Knighta's gonna give him all the game time he wants next year, if he's gonna be our future FB (HB?).

It can't hurt starting the young bloke on a key forward. If he seems to be doing fine and containing the opposition, then everyone get on your bandwagons, but if the game gets too out of control for the kid then Fletch is always there as a default backman.

I'm not determining this on the upcoming draft, as the only case of the following happening is if we didn't draft Hurley.

RD 1: Michael Hurley/Jack Ziebell/Hamsih Hartlett
RD 2: Steven Hill/Tom Swift/Jordan Roughead
RD 3: Mitch Banner/Jay Shannon/Jarred Redden
RD 4: Luke Stanton/Tom Allwright/Kade Klemke
RD 5: Riley Milne/Brodie A'Vard

PSD: Jeff White

ROOKIE 1: Zach Sengstock
ROOKIE 2: Leigh Kitchen

Just some thoughts.

Hurley.

Now.

Watch him today RIG?

My only concern is his pace. We want him to be a 10 to 15 year player at the club and if he slows down by 26 or 27 it could be an issue. Its great he can play on the gorillas but in 5 years my tip is there wont be any of them left and your full forwards will be the Riewoldt/Franklin/Gumby types who are all tall and have great endurance.

Thats my reasoning behind wanting Trengove ahead of Hurley due to his sheer athleticism and competitive nature. Otherwise, I like HFF's round by round options. Wouldn't mind Will Young later on either.

People need to remember that we may not get Hurley, and if we dont then we need to look at the other tall defenders in the draft, as, IMO, we all tend to agree that we need another tall backmen, what happens if we dont get Hurley? who else is their? any one else thought of these questions? for mine, their are two players that look ok, Riley Milne a 196cm FB, is good on the lead, but isnt so strong in one on ones, and what about Brodie A'Vard from Murray (I think) a 196cm FB also, people, we cannot, as the old saying goes, put all our eggs in one basket, agreed?

As the season is now completed, over the next week or so I will compress a 1st edition phantom draft done by myself, then after the draft camp is completed I might do some minor changes for my 2nd edition. Might be a few bolters in there, so should create a bit of interest.

Will Lisle be available with our second pick? If not, maybe we should package Lovett + 2nd round for a high second round/low first round pick. Correct me if I'm wrong but i've read he is a decent prospect as a KP back.
