i think it could be brisbane against the dockers. i think it was the quarter in which the lions then dominated and won 3 premierships. that win was the first of like 16 for the lions in a row in 2001

someone could correct me but i think the lions kicked like 13 or 14 goals in the last quarter. im pretty sure its the record

Witnessed North kick 14 in the 1st term vs Richmond in the 90's.

From memory the Tigers kicked the 1st one, then we went bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang & bang.

Horse Longmire with 14 six pointers that night.

And in a first, the Tigers supporters left in droves at quarter time, instead of th elong break.;) :D

pies had a huge quarter last year in the final round against the roos
kick 10 goals and 6 behinds.

biggest for last year, not sure about all time.

i'm pretty sure travis cloke kicked 12 goals off a broken leg back in '42.

This becomes irrelevant because we're looking for most goals by a player...

And there is higher team ones anyway..

But pretty sure the Pies kicked 13 goals in a quarter against the bulldogs in 2001 or 2002... -but actually saying that sounds so rediculous.. maybe my memory is broken... damn beer.

I was at North Hobart back in 1991 when Hawthorn sunk 36.15 (231) past Fitzroy and reamed them by 157 points.
That was the day this Fitzroy supporter got so pissed off with the way Robert Shaw was coaching the Roys, that he ran down the terraces at one of the quarter breaks and got out to the huddle before the coaching staff had got there and yelled at Shaw on his way past that he was a shit coach and that he was going to replace him (Shaw) as coach for the rest of the day.
Got to the huddle and tore strips off some of the players, then got dragged away and ejected by the police.
Lucky the players never launched into him :p

i know adelaide hold the afl record for the 2nd quarter with 14.2 (86) against fitzroy

from memory the 1st quarter record is 13.3??

Anyone going to actually answer the question? He's after the individual who has kicked the most goals in a quarter...

14.4.88 I believe it was

Anthony Banik struggled in defence.

It appears 8 is the most in any one quarter.
Even if Sumich did do it, he would have equalled the record which has the following players:
Harry Davie Melb v Carl 1925 4th Q
Gordon Coventry Coll v Hawthorn 1929 1st Q
Bob Pratt Sth Melb v Carlton 1934 3rd Q

The book I got them from was printed in 1982, so there may be more, but I doubt anyone has kicked more than 8

From my hazy 1992 memory, the day Dunstall kicked 17 V's Richmond, he got 7 in one quarter. He might have done it again another time, when he kicked 14 v's the Doggies in a night game at Waverley.

Anyone confirm the actual numbers?

Hows 9 to Kelvin Templeton last quarter v Stkilda sound, may have been 8. Kicked 15 for the day.

A doggie supporter will clarify.

I reckon that was 8 as well.
7 at 3/4 time, finished with 15.

Happy to be corrected though.
