We've agreed to give May free passage as act of good will.

This stuff pays off just look at our record with Richmond post CCJ/Tarrant.
Hey they gave us a massive chop out last trade period, no other team seemed interested to trade out our first round pick for two in the thirty’s..

It's a bloody trap and Rawling will walk straight into it.

He wouldn't have lasted 1 minute during the Vietnam conflict . He'd have stood on a mine still in the bloody crate.
Oh my. You're on to something.

"With selection 2 North Melbourne select Arche May from Subiaco".

Brady waits till the camera turns away and flips the Collingwood recruiters the bird. They pretend to be dismayed.

"With selection 10 Collingwood select Cooper Trembath from North Melbourne VFL".

18 months later..

May - Delisted
Trembath - Norm Smith

AFL mid-season draft: Subiaco forward Archer May set to realise AFL dream
Mitchell Woodcock
The West Australian
Sun, 25 May 2025 6:25PM

Subiaco forward Archer May is almost certain to be picked up in the mid-season rookie draft after being a late withdrawal from their 103-point loss to South Fremantle on Saturday.

May, 20, didn’t suit up for the Lions days out from the draft on Wednesday, with several clubs including North Melbourne interested in the 198cm forward.

The 20-year-old joined Subiaco this off-season from Richmond’s VFL side and has kicked 12 goals in six games, while also averaging 14 disposals, six marks and three tackles.

May impressed with two goals for the WAFL in their breakthrough win over the SANFL earlier this month to further solidify his credentials as an AFL prospect.

He is one of 45 WAFL players who have nominated according to a list obtained by The West Australian, while he has also put his hand up for a minimum 18-month contract.

Peel Thunder premiership defender Michael Sellwood is a strong chance to get drafted after getting interest from No.1 pick holder Waalitj Marawar (West Coast).

The Western Bulldogs put Sellwood through a medical last week and Yartapuulti (Port Adelaide) met with him on Friday while they were in Perth to face Walyalup (Fremantle).

Ruckmen Lachlan Blakiston (East Fremantle) and Ollie Eastland (Claremont) have both attracted interest from Essendon, as has West Perth midfielder Kane Bevan.

It comes as the Eagles are set favoured to take Richmond VFL half-back Tom McCarthy, who like May also sat out his game this weekend, not playing against Essendon.

They will only have one pick with premiership hero Dom Sheed on the club’s inactive list after sustaining a season-ending knee injury in the pre-season.

Collingwood are interested in their VFL midfielder Josh Browne, who played 32 games for West Coast’s WAFL side before he moved to Victoria to play for Williamstown and then the Magpies.

Last year five WAFL players were picked up in the mid-season rookie draft in Jacob Blight (Richmond), Darcy Craven (Brisbane), Jasper Scaife (Hawthorn), Brynn Teakle (North Melbourne) and Luker Kentfield (Melbourne).

About a dozen players are predicted to be picked up when the mid-season rookie draft is held on Wednesday at 4.30pm.

Clubs have until Tuesday to finalise the vacancies on their list when the order will be decided.

Players need to have nominated for and been overlooked in last year’s national draft, have been previously listed by an AFL club, or played a minimum of three games in the WAFL, SANFL, TSL or VFL to be eligible.

FORMER SAINT IN MID-SEASON MIX

FIRST-time AFL players will dominate this week's AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft, but will some delisted options get their chance?

Richmond VFL's Tom McCarthy is locked in to be West Coast's No.1 pick, while after that a range of players are expected to get their first chance in the system.

Key forward Archer May has interest from North Melbourne and Collingwood, while Port Adelaide has been linked to young key defender Harrison Ramm from Glenelg.

With Richmond, Melbourne, St Kilda and Sydney all set to not have a selection, Carlton will have the next live pick, with Jacob Newton having been in the Blues' sights. Caleb Lewis is expected to join Gold Coast, having not played at local level in recent weeks, while Ewan Mackinlay has also caught interest, including from the Western Bulldogs and the Power. Jack Watkins, who spent the pre-season trial period with the Power and plays with the Port Adelaide Magpies, is also in the mix for a rookie spot.

Former Saint Oscar Adams is a chance to get an AFL lifeline, with the former St Kilda tall defender being linked with the Suns, who have lost talls Charlie Ballard and Elliot Himmelberg to ACL injuries this season.

How the Bombers approach the mid-season intake is of most fascination. While they have been widely tipped to add a ruckman, the club could also use selections more to bolster key positions and back in youngster Vigo Visentini to help Todd Goldstein ruck out the rest of the season.

Former Giant and Demons defender Adam Tomlinson has nominated for the rookie draft and has had club interest as a ready-to-go option.
