A good list manager would just put the bullet in him and open a spot.

He is injured. Wouldn’t be hard to say he is out for the rest of the year, especially with it being a miracle for him to get back to AFL fitness before seasons end.

Strangely I wouldn’t be against Tomlinson.

We need a key defender and if he plays 6-18 months of footy and improves that back half and helps this group win some games that would be invaluable to this group.

We can’t keep playing Kallan Dawson as our No.1 KPD.

We are going to struggle to win any games with this current defence and this group just needs to start winning, if a 31 year old helps that, then it’s a win.

The whole managed thing was just a furphy to say there wasn’t enough room for him because we have to prioritise our AFL listed players.

Tomlinson has played for his local club Old Trinity the last two weeks. Had 34 disposals and 12 marks last week

Bold idea Frank, unfortunately he's less mobile than Jack Darling these days. The lack of mobility and defensive workmate has led to people in the media referring to him as 'the trebuchet', in that you have to wheel him into position before he can fire at goal.
On the plus side local manufacturers of full sized mirrors would be pleased by this recruitment idea.

Christiano Ronaldo immobile? Even at 38 he would run rings around all of our players. And he would only cost us $800k per week.

Sure there's likely 14-20 players who will be moved off the list in 2-3 years time.
But as much as everyone has the blood lust to delist everybody in sight, you've actually got to have replacements coming in that can play AFL footy or some depth around that can come in to give the kids a chop out from the AFL grind.
Having said that I would hope we'd look at someone in the MSD vs taking them in the ND like a Riley Byce situation.

I would be staggering the cuts to 5-6 players across each year, give the younger kids a bit more development time.
My impression is this years draft may not be the one to take more than 3-4 draftees in, given half the talent in the top 30 is likely to be already tied to other clubs academies and NGA's.
But it depends what we can get in via trade (GWS or GC type fringe players ideally) or FA/Rookie etc.

Well not a way to go down maybe a rookie spot for him next year.
As for MSD if we go there take the best player not playing AFL that can play AFL straight away not in Round 20 or 21 .
As for players do we go to after a Brew from Werribee or a player from SANFL or WASFL no 18 year old string bean pole kid.

Tough, doesn’t get tackles broken easily, safe ball user (don’t need someone with amazing skills because it’s unrealistic to find that on top of toughness in the MSD - Newcombe is the rare one - but also we’ve got players for that), works hard up & down the ground to connect both ends of the ground.

A proper forward pocket (probably from outside the list but happy to trial Harvey & Payne for this year)
An ANB type

Happy with that forward line going forward, as much as Zurhaar does my head in.

Should be able to find a type like that in the state leagues.
