No disrespect to Kallan but the number of games he has played casts a lot of doubt on him being a success for us, especially when you consider Massimo D'Ambrosia being available in that same draft. I have zero confidence that we will do any better with our pick this year.

If we have a spot , Darcy McPherson seems a no brainer to me . Knows how play the role of high half forward that rolls up to the contest , knows where to run to find the ball aggressive , can kick a snag and he’s hungry for another opportunity at AFL level .

If Tomlinson was even 3 years younger I'd be all for it, because he's killing it for us in the VFL and looks fantastic.

But we cannot use our MSD pick on a 31 year old.

Strangely I wouldn’t be against Tomlinson.

We need a key defender and if he plays 6-18 months of footy and improves that back half and helps this group win some games that would be invaluable to this group.

We can’t keep playing Kallan Dawson as our No.1 KPD.

We are going to struggle to win any games with this current defence and this group just needs to start winning, if a 31 year old helps that, then it’s a win.

Someone like Tomlinson might be happy to play 6 months of AFL footy and earn a bit of extra coin.

We need a stop gap until either Logue pulls the digit out, Whitlock has another preaseason and the same for W Dawson if they swing him back.

We don’t need someone long term, just someone that might help this team win games of footy. Losing constantly is killing this group.

One of his teammates Josh Green would be worth a crack if we wanted a big bodied midfielder. 192cm and at 22 is now physically matured. Monster inside/contested bball winner like his brother Tom Green.
