Discuss the round 2 match between them.

Here's my team for Adelaide:

F: Jeff Farmer, Adam Campbell, Mark Johnson
HF: Rhys Palmer, Chris Tarrant, Dean Solomon
C: Brett Peake, Des Headland, Heath Black
HB: Roger Hayden, Michael Johnson, Scott Thornton
B: Antoni Grover, Luke McPharlin, Steven Dodd
R: Robert Warnock, Matthew Carr, Josh Carr

I/C: Marcus Drum, Ryan Murphy, Byron Schammer, David Mundy, Christopher Mayne, Daniel Gilmore, Ryley Dunn, Kepler Bradley

Rested: Matthew Pavlich, Peter Bell, Aaron Sandilands, Ryan Crowley, Shaun McManus

The I/C is 8 players, right? Or is it only 6?

I doubt Thornton will feature in the pre-season. I think Obrien, Warnock and Dunn are maybe a few weeks off also. Black I think will also miss another week.

I'd rather they didn't play guys unless they were 100% fit and ready to go.

The interchange is 6 in pre-season I believe.

Wouldnt mind getting another look at Josh Head and also Murphy (if they both fit)... Bell needs to play before the season starts so maybe this is the week. And Chris Mayne as well

Depending on the numbers available, I'd be resting anyone who is sore/ill and also any over 25s who have played in both SA and on Sunday. I'd rest Sandilands and leave Belly for next week too. Would imagine Pav may want to go home while he has the chance, so I'd let him play, but restrict his game time - let Murphy and Campbell have the forward line to themselves and see what they can do. I'd drop Duffield too, and never bring him back again (actually, maybe we should leave him in, saves us risking someone who can actually play).

As mean as it sounds, I'm with you on that one. For whatever reason he has a lot of fans though!

Yeah, I felt a bit bad after I hit submit, but I just don't see what he has to offer to the team. The most disappointing thing is that he DID look promising when he first started playing, but he's just gone backwards since. I can't see him surviving the cull at the end of this season.

Duffield would walk into a HBF at several AFL cubs. Pity our list is a 1/4 HBFers.

Didn't he shop himself around at the end of last season? If he did, you would have to imagine there was minimal interest as he's far from guaranteed a spot at Freo (as you've said, we've got a 100 others who can play his position)

He's frustrating because he has no problems getting the ball, but his decision making and skills are not close to the level they should be at for an AFL player.

I'd be surprised if Belly plays. I reckon they'll save him for the week after when we get a home game again.

Would be a good chance to trial his new routine though, especially considering there are 8 on the bench so he only needs to play 50-60 minutes.

Yep, still 8.

I'd play practically everyone who is 100% fit.

Pretty sure all of my ins have had an uninterrupted prep
In- Mourish, Bell, Murphy, McManus, Head, Mayne
Out- Hasleby :( Pavlich, Matt Carr, McPharlin, Duffield, Solomon

Kepler will probably play this week.

Keep the young in, having a crack, including Duffield. He has shown a lot at times, but he needs his confidence. We are one practice match in to the season - fair crack of the whip. He does not make my best 25 but I am not unhappy that he is on the list.

Is the Dealer still injured?
Is Foster injured?
Is O'Brien still injured?
Can big Kepler get a run?

Rest Farmer, Headland and McPharlin.

Give the Prattster a run :thumbsu:

Is the Dealer still injured? Not sure, probably.:o

Is Foster injured? Yes

Is O'Brien still injured? I think so. Big start to the year for Brock. A strong showing early for Peel will get him an upgrade, I reckon he's the type of player Harvey will back in.

Can big Kepler get a run? I'll be surprised if he doesn't.

Kinda hope we lose this game so we can play a few matches with the normal interchange systems. Only plus side to winning is that we get another game on TV.
