Natanui to Carlton.

Honestly haven't your fans suffered enough? Nick Nat is not going to make the decisive difference. YOur not going to tank again. You guys this year have the opportunity to actually win some respect back from the other teams fans grab it or you'll drift downwards under the two new clubs then even Pratt's money won't save you from being the competition laughing stock. YOu have the squad to compete for an 8-10 spot show some self respect Andy. AMbition is not an ugly word.

You've obviously missed the point of thread but thats OK - it was nothing to do with advocating tanking - it was more about flushing out opposition supporters who all last year said how crap a side we were but then when we landed the priority pick accused us of throwing games.

For the record, I think we can beat Essendon, Richmond and Port Adelaide (maybe St.Kilda but they have been a bogey side ofor us). I also think we can 'pinch' one of the other games - maybe (and don't laugh !) the Hawthorn game in Round 22 with Hawthorn maybe distracted by upcoming finals.

That will give us 8-9 wins which is about expected this year in Carltons unstoppable resurgence up the ladder to our 17th flag !! ;)

Could happen if Carlton get a Priority pick. What's the rule - if we win only four games again to we get No.1 pick again (I can't remember the rule ??).

Before people start all the hysteria about tanking again, lets get it on record which of these games you think Carlton are certain of winning:

Geelong (Telstra Dome)
Port Adelaide (AAMI)
Collingwood (MCG)
Essendon (MCG)
Richmond (MCG)
St. Kilda (MCG)
Sydney (Telstra Dome)
Bulldogs (Telstra)
Adelaide (AAMI)
Port Adelaide (Telstra)
Kangaroos (Telstra)
Brisbane (GABBA)
Hawthorn (Telstra)

Tough run home - realistically we should win at least one of the Essendon, Richmond or St.Kilda games at the 'G and possibly Port Adelaide at the Dome but also a big chance of not winning any of the last 13 games, particularly if Judd goes down.
if carlton cant win at least 2-3 of these games, surely that means that after 3 #1 picks & recruiting the best player in the land
that carlton are far worse than anybody thought they were.

Games you should win in bold

Easy on he is a carlton supporter. It show that the culture of tanking is alive and well at princes park

No it is not. You just had to be on the Carlton board in the second half of last season to see how many Carlton supporters were disappointed at losing matches in the second half of the season. Do not label all Carlton supporters on the basis of a few who continue to fail to notice that premierships are being won by teams with a handful of early draft picks, rather than teams that have spent significant time at the bottom end of the ladder.

Not enough , even you would see that .

I understand your point but threads like this do Carlton no favours at all .

i am pretty sure that even if you did qualify for PP it is taken between rounds 1 & 2. No chance he will be available then

I agree & I really get annoyed when I see a Carlton supporter starting a thread like this. I can tell you, from a personal point of view, the furthest thing from my mind is who we will be recruiting in the 2008 National Draft. My focus is totally on what is going to happen in tonight's game, because it is our efforts against teams such as Geelong that will indicate how much our team has improved this season.

What I do know is that our next premiership will not be won by staying near the bottom of the ladder & continuing to harvest early draft picks. Our next premiership will be won by developing the talent currently on our list & utilising the drafts & trade week wisely in the next couple of years, while building confidence & self belief by winning games & playing competitively on a consistent basis.

Wrong.
If Carlton win 4 or less games this year they will get a PP before Round 1 - same as last year.
So, once again, there is ENORMOUS incentive to tank. They did it last year and they are quite capable of doing it again.
Come on Carlton - win a game and prove us wrong. Please.
