No update at this stage DC. We have been using RMIT for pre season before Christmas and have it for 4 weeks when we start back so won’t affect the senior club.

There are talks regarding compensation but nothing official at this stage

Hope its sorted. Absolute shit show and worry the over reaction would be to do a million investigations and studies and close a lot of area down.

Just what local sports needs although I suppose the bigger worry is houses near where they are boring.

But then again, I just read that the NEL tunneling may have only contributed but not be sole reason for the large pot hole.

Heidelberg have donated a few old premiership trophy's use as back fill for the hole, making room for a few more I suppose.

Put your hands out for sure.
Trinity Grammar Sports fields as far as I know are benefitting from the disruption through the Bulleen Rd part of the project.

the bloke who captains a vfl side, had 50 touches in the grand final and is probably the reason the rules changed.

Was it true the burgers had vfl guys in the twos as didn't have enough points to fit them all in? Or they didnt play at all

NFL clubs still recruiting VFL listed players - Is this a futile exercise for those clubs as most of these guys will be lucky to get anywhere near qualifying for finals with the new NFL rules or is there something in it for the lower clubs to sneak a couple of wins when these blokes are available?
For the players they must know aligning with an NFL club means no finals for them?
The new rule will help NFL with strong junior programs which I think is a good thing

It's hard to predict how many games someone might get at VFL. Plenty only get a handful and easily qualify for NFNL finals. Not to mention puts you in the box seat getting them full time in the future.

Also if it helps you win games and make finals its also a bonus.

For example the big fella Panther picked up might not be a regular for Essendon VFL and they might be happy for him to develop at local level.

Helps when they retire from VFL and still want to have a kick. Already been aligned and part of the club, have seen the culture, mates with players, etc. You'd think that helps as a long-term view/strategy. Some may move for $ or the clubs points won't fit multiple in, but I think having that opportunity to bring them in to compliment the juniors/locals is of value.

Yep all logical points
With the new rule NFL clubs will now place a lot more value on 'fringe' VFL boys and ageing VFL players - All of a sudden, those particular players will be in much higher demand whilst other leagues will continue to focus on the big names.
It will be interesting to watch the recruiting strategies of the high performing football operations clubs (Bergs, Monty, Hursty, slime) over the next couple of years.
In theory the rule change may also even up the competition and give the bottom clubs a boost?
