I’m not going to pretend to know the ins and outs of the specific situations you’ve set as an example but the task of holding players in D1 with a 100k salary cap while you have clubs all over offering huge coin to leave is tough. My point is they could've had alot more if they didn't walk from the club. Two of the players from last year have walked even though they were regulars. Maybe the committee could've asked why you were leaving before rubber stamping the clearance. The senior club has always had a tilt at winning a flag, but go out and buy players after BORO winning the flag with 18 homegrown kids. Monty said that's the 5 year plan. They lost a home grown kid in Luke Collins to Bundoora because the club(COMMITTEE)didn't want to sit down and speak to him regarding a contract THAT BACKFIRED! And they started the rumour, he was asking huge coin to deflict the stuff up! Collins has gone on to become captain of the Bulls. They recently had a kid who won the 19s B&F and he didn't even get spoken to from the club regarding a senior contract, to make it even worse the senior coach didn't communicate with him wouldnt even know his name. Winning a club B&F you would think the club would want to keep him around. Makes me scratch my head in amazement.
Good Luck in 2022 Mont will be interesting to see if any HOMEGROWN clearout at seasons end.
Montmorency played plenty of local kids last year just look at their points.
I know kids who have played mostly reserves and a handful of senior games being offered massive coin in lower divisions to leave. Look at Boro lost a whole bunch to Panton Hill (while in D3) at one stage.
