Depends when those 200 SANFL game were played and if it was at multiple clubs or just the one can only be Norwood, Glenelg, South or Sturt between 1970 and 1990
The 1970 part was removed 10+ years ago. They still have to have played 200+ by 1990 though.

Welsh named at full forward :thumbsu:

Grow son, grow
Notice our new addition to the recruiting team Richard Taylor (ex Richmond) was on the selection committee..

The All-Australian Team was selected by a panel comprising Kevin Sheehan (AFL Talent Ambassador – Chairman), Tarkyn Lockyer (AFL National Academy Coach/Manager), Mick Agresta (Carlton), Robert Forster-Knight (Essendon), Leon Harris (Brisbane Lions), Derek Hine (Collingwood) and Richard Taylor (Adelaide).

Just for a rough comparison does anybody know what the heights of other key forwards were at under 16's compared to under 18's and how much they grew in that time? What is Welsh now 192cm?

Some are 184-186cm and end up 193cm

It Just depends !

Alot of rucks at U16s are 192-194cm and end up over 200cm

Welsh will probably be a 3rd tall hybrid forward which would compliment TT and Fog anyway

He's 189-190 currently.
If he puts on another 3-4cm that's key forward height.

Fair chance he makes 193cm +

But Yep I’m not worried what he ends up anyway , if he’s a good player he’s a good player

Doesn’t need to be a no 1 key forward , a Jack Gunston type would do me . Either way as long as he keeps developing his game

They are twins though. May only take one. Or they may pass.

edit: or the twins refuse to enter as father sons to try and stay in SA.
You're certainly not a pessimist

If they're any good (Lucas most certainly is) and Ben's not too shabby either on what I've seen they'll be at Carlton if they're rated.

Carlton mate of mine said there’s no guarantee they end up at Carlton under F/S. Apparently a fair bit of bad blood when Campo left for Bombers. Blues couldn’t work out a deal with Essendon, whilst also engaging in some underhanded tactics to try make him stay, and ended up with zero compensation and he walked to Essendon through the PSD

You tend to forget he was such a great footballer when you think of his coaching tenure with us.

I think WeedsMullet84 meant bad blood from Campo's point of view, not Carlton's.

I suspect it will depend on who else would be in the range to pick him up. Maybe do a Dunkley and say "only match a bid on me if a WA/ qld team (or north) call my name".

My apologies weeds

Still doubt bad blood after all that time , different admin etc

Campo would have more fond memories of Carlton than poor given that’s basically his career which was highly successful

It would be nice to actually benefit from a father son or nga one day. You look at the u16 AA squad and it's full of father sons and Academy players likely to end up at clubs on the cheap. Hopefully one of those kicks on and is ours.
We will this year with michalanney..he is apparently rated quite highly by multiple clubs according to a few here and he is available to us through a quirk of the old system still being in play.

He really is a natural footballer. I saw him a few times for rostrevor and he looks to really have come on again this year to be one of SA's better performers at the nationals. Also cracked the norwood league side and they are flying right now. He should be a really good get for us
