Last week against Carlton he was very, very ordinary.
This week he has been even worse.
Of the few disposals I've seen him get they've been on the half back line plus 2 shocking misses at goal.
One time he kicked it to a 2 on 1 to Milne. Maybe it was the best option at the time; but Riewoldt should have been down their as the target.
with 7 minutes to go in the 2nd or 3rd quarter (I forget which lol sorry) he got bustled under the mark and didn't attempt to jump and spoil but the opposition dropped it; Saints got the ball and then Riewoldt ran backwards into the space of the leading saints forward. He did this one two other occasions in the TV shot. Then right at the end of the 3rd quarter he just stood in the pocket with his hands up. Why didnt he lead? even if he marked we know he couldn't have kicked the goal anyway.
To be honest, on his performances, if he had the name of a Henderson, a Lynch, a Dawes or a Hawkins etc he would have been dropped and/or their would be widespread calls to drop him.
I have tried to give examples for this thread to not be moved to the bay; however it is deemed this is for the bay I will accept (however be disapointed).

He basically gets away with unbelievably bad form because he's a former champion of the game. Any other player would be eaten alive by BF.

The end is coming for him, but its sad to see people taking potshots at a guy clearly in decline. We aren't talking about a 25 year old in his prime here.

Not even the best footballer in his family.

(just joking, has so many brownie points racked up, that it's not funny. Yep, he's had a bad season, but all champs have a quiet season in their career. I wouldn't write him off)

Massive fall from grace. I still thought there was hope for him throughout the year but now he looks like he should retire. He's not the type of forward you can leave in the goalsquare for his twilight years either.

Season he will want to put behind him.

Interesting to see how he goes with the knee Operation, a weak knee not exactly good for a bloke of his play style.

Still havnt seen anything from this bloke to warrant him being called a champion tbh.

This.

Cannot fathom those suggesting he is ahead of Richo and Hall as mentioned in another thread recently.

Very good player, but no champion.

At the very least needs to give up the captaincy. More extreme measures may be something like a change of clubs.

Pretty much close to useless atm, a liability in front of goals, and offering nothing around the ground.

Please, was the epitome of the hard working high marking forward for 5+ years. He is a champion, even if his body has let him down lately. The fact he has managed bags of 7+ several times in his career in the role he has played says a lot about him as a player.

He is not strong under pressure, however.

He hasn't been the same player since he returned from his hamstring injury and given he is heading into the twilight of his career, I can't see him returning to his previous form:(. Would be a very sad way to end the career of who was one of the best CHF of the 2000's along with Tredrea and Richo.

Saints have some big list management decisions.

There's no Geelong "rebound" fairytale here.

Is it time for guys like Clarke, Gram and Blake to go? Is it time to make some harder decisions on quality veterans who may still garner decent draft picks?

Stanley was good this year, McEvoy has been excellent too. Can St Kilda fans tell us who is knocking on the door and could make a difference in 2012?

Who exactly is a champion? Is Scott Wynd? Chris Grant? He has had an amazing career with years where he has dominated the competition and willed us over the line in finals.
Yeah he cried, his kicking for goal leaves a lot to be desired, but he is a champion.

What about Brown?
Tredrea was a lot better than him. Richo was too and had mobility to play in different positions, I'd take Richo in a heartbeat
