You've only made finals 12 times in the 52 completed seasons since then and not once since 2006. We've been there 21 times in 30 years

And even if you don't choke in 2017 to actually make the eight or even the GF we know you'll embarrass yourselves after losing the only two you've played in half a century by a combined 156 points

We've eliminated you from finals the last 3 times we've met. You were even the first team to lose a final to Fremantle

So enjoy you're little run because it'll end soon enough - what's softer than Clayton Oliver?

I was really hoping that the Pies would reward Buckley with a new contract for the team's good late season form, and damned if they didn't do it. Took a premiership side to 6 straight seasons of a slow downhill slide, and gets a two year contract for his work. Only disappointment is that the contract isn't longer.

They were never going to sack Buckley - anybody else with his record would have been sacked by the half way mark of this season or may be even last year.

I told someone after the news broke that this decision is more or less the antithesis of St Kilda sacking Malcolm Blight. My god do boards get sucked in easily by the promise of a rebuild.

Absolute idiot doing that. Being an AFL state we reserve the right to do so. Melbourne or Adelaide won't do that and the NRL states would never let AFL open a brand new stadium.
