Trades dropping.

Adelaide actually got two first round picks for Lever o_O
Adelaide will receive two first-round draft picks in exchange for defender Jake Lever after a trade deal was struck with Melbourne on Thursday morning at Etihad Stadium.

The Crows will get pick No.10, a future first-round selection and a future fourth-round selection from the Demons and send Lever, pick No.35 and a future third-round selection to Melbourne.

Fox Sports also saying Devon Smith (& #24 + 2018 second round pick) gets to Essendon for #11 + 2018 third round pick

Interesting they got the Lever deal done before Cameron.

So GWS get the pick 11 that the Dogs wanted for Stringer.

That trade is going to get messy unless Essendon put their future first or a quality player on the table.
Dogs seem to have really ballsed up the Stringer situation. Effectively pushed him out of the club with their post season actions and then tried to play hardball with a trade. You can't have it both ways.

cf: Akermanis, Jason.

Bombers will do a deal with the Crows for Aaron Francis. That's the Lever replacement for Adelaide and Essendon will hope to get a pick that will help get Saad or Stringer done. Good chance the Bombers off the Dogs two picks and hope they accept that.

I think Cameron will get done for the Lions. Especially if Motlop chooses the Crows.

Melbourne have given overs for Lever... two 1st rd picks for a player who yet to prove himself as the no.1 KPD. Well done Adelaide.

I disagree. You have to remember it's two picks in the middle of the first round. He's worth a top 5 pick so it works out well for both.

Not sure Melbourne was the best fit with Frost and 2 MacDonalds

They'll play Tom forward, his days in the backline are over.

But should they? Similar to us playing Merrett forward. Tom is an AA quality fulld back and a pretty average forward.

Nah he's been great up forward and a lot more consistent than Merrett was. Not the best kick setting up play from behind so they will keep playing him forward where he has looked very good.

Surely ‘looked very good’ is an exaggeration.

Yes it was an exaggeration. He has looked good though. Can take a mark if he doesn't brings the ball to ground, rarely beaten 1 on 1 and his kicking is best maximised closer to goal.

Agree 100%

Notwithstanding the Bomber's reputation at the trade table, they have got the Devon Smith deal done efficiently and cleanly while the Dogs sit by and look like sulky little sooks threatening to hold their breath until mummy gives them a lolly.

For a Club that was riding high just over 12 months ago, they are starting to look like a disorganised shambles.

Has anyone seen the hawks twitter clip " Big news"
It's mainly about impey coming, but there is a funny " where's hodgey? " at the end.

Enjoy

Could one of the mods help, can't get this to copy properly

Edit: hope this works now.

Enjoyed that. Much better than the Essendon announcement with Smith.

I just can't see the value in Impey. OK pick 33 is not much on face value but it is when its your best pick. If they want to get back into this draft they'll have to offer up a real player, not a fringe one. Breust for example.

I know we finished last and have absolutely no high ground to stand on but by golly have Adelaide completely struck out since about 2.30pm on September 30
And the fact that everyone seems to want to go to Alberton won't help their state of mind either.
