I'm just curious how many of you melbourne supporters will be showing up.

It's not the people on here you have to worry about, it's the stooges who show no passion.

23,000 at the game aginst nth melb (who have 31,000 members) on at saturday coming off a good performance aginst the cats, no free to air coverage.

interesting sportsbet have put a market up for this game called "THE WHO CARES CUP" have betting on crowd number

0-12,500 was $3.20 or something
12,500-14,500 was around $2.80
14,500 plus was favourite $2.30

i think 0-12,500 is a very attractive price

The weather forcast for Sunday is "Fine" so the bookies would have taken that into account as well.

I can't understand why they play games on free to air that are not even sold out in your own city and you have to get Foxtel to watch the interstate games ... doesn't make sense.

To answer the original question:
8,500
Might as well play the game on the Gold Coast :(

For memory, the broadcast schedule is decided based on times (friday night, Sat day, Sat night, etc...). This is done prior to the draw being known. So as opposed to looking at it as a Freo V Melbourne game, they have the rights to a Sunday afternoon time slot.

If I weren't sick I would search for a source. Perhaps someone can correct me/confirm?

Hope this helps.

Oh and GL this weekend.

That was a North home game and there were probably about 7-9,000 MFC supporters there. I would expect to double that number of MFC supporters plus get a thousand or so Freo supporters (always seem to be plenty at the G when we play them).

The TV coverage should make little difference IMO.
