At least he knows how to lay a tackle which is more than we can say for majority of our side :(

Apparently he is not happy with terms that Geelong are offering and there is apparent interest from both Adelaide teams.

This will certainly provoke criticism ......and it's not a biased view, purely objective .....but I'd trade Knights for Varco tomorrow

Of course you know I want to keep Reilly ;)

If that is the infamous 7 player delisted this season – where do you see improvement coming from next year?

Nathan Bassett is the only player on that list who played in Saturday’s elimination final and by adding Jason Porplyzia, Brent Reilly and Brett Burton (who is not going to be available until round 17 or 18) that would be our best 22. If we do not take a hard line with delisting we will be in big trouble as we will once again finish around the 6th, 7th or 8th mark and it will be another wasted season.

Where will improve come from?

which is the relevant question.

it's one thing to say we will improve from within. which with a young list we will, those guys will get better.

HOWEVER

there are 2 other forces we need to take account of, when looking the improvement of our younger guys:

1. the dimunition of our senior players as they get older
2. the relative improvement of other teams.

why is this never addressed? we get X better, but lose Y on the senior end, and the rest of teh league improves by Z.

it's relative, and that's never spoken about.

Yes Gill tries hard works hard etc. But disposal is terrible 95% of the time, we will not play in a premiership and if he cant be traded he should be delisted

you do realise that the tired old "player XYZ will never play in a premiership" line is a load of horseshit?

go and check a few premiership teams, and see what you think then.

Bullshit.

The Crows were never going to win a premeirship with Clay Sampson, Aaron Keating or Chad Rintoul in the team!

.

That's the second word you have used this season that I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ;):p

That is ridiculous. So a guy like Gill or Moran can handle Craig's training regime, but another professional footballer in Lovett could not? Flawed argument.

Like I said he is a risk with potentially high returns. No doubt a player like him who can break thelines and has good skill would be sought after by a few clubs. Reports are that Brisbane, Dogs and West Coast have shown interest up till now.

it's not ridiculous

isn't this the same playe rthat constantly misses training and is constantly being suspended by the club for training breaches

WW biased?? Perish the thought.

Only a fool would do that trade. :thumbsd:

Do you like being criticised - you certainly invite it?

So sure ....why not do a poll

Didn't you know, C Knights is public enemy number 1 on this board. He was one of the very few that stood up on the weekend but that doesn't seem to matter.

What do you mean stood up

In what way ....clearances, tackles, effective disposals

If your talking putting team mates under pressure .....I'd agree

Look he wasn't horrid ......but he was hardly a shining light in a midfield that was absolutely deplorable

If you agree that the midfield was smashed in every facet of the game ......who carry's the can for that? ......just one player or as I would maintain most of our midfield group .....of which Knights is one

To say he stood up ....frankly is amusing

We seem to have this replenishing of the list back to front. We make a bucket load of changes when the draft was considered weak. This year we will make less changes in a strong draft, even considering the sus future drafts. We axe Torney when he was playing good footy. This year we retain Burton even though he will miss half of the year. We will retain Goodwin, Mcleod and Edwards even after Craig admits we are along way behind the best. These guys arent going to take us there, and their form has been hit and miss. Their bodies are waning and they were shit on the weekend when we needed them to stand up. Doesnt make any sense.

He stood up.

It's hard to be impressive and dominant when you're effectively the Lone Ranger.

Also - whoever through Gamble's name up; that's a decent call.

I will even go one step further and say IMO momentum swung our way somewhat when Knights entered the action.

I won't bother arguing with you because I would be wasting my time. With certain people on this board, once a player has been black listed there is no changing peoples minds.

IMO Knights is the pick of our current crop of young midfielders, possibly Dangerfield aside. Let's not forget he is basically in his second year of AFL football and missed a proportion of the year through injury. He is a natural footballer with real football instinct and has massive upside. Meh he burns the ball occasionally but then again so do most. He reads the play better than most young footballers I have seen. A footballers footballer is young Chris Knights.

were you asleep when that asking price popped into your head?
:rolleyes:That is the club's apparent asking price.

Lovett came late/missed a recovery session. There was one earlier indiscretion which I have forgotten. Obviously he also had the incident with his girlfriend. You make it sound like Lovett is constantly missing training. This is false.

I was thinking when Gmable missed out on Geelong's side on the weekend he could be an option. Has looked pretty impressive this season. I think a trade for Varcoe would be rather difficult to get done, I think we would have a better opportunity to go for Gamble, and the price would be cheaper.

Griffin for pick 21...wouldn't do it as the GC17 shadow is hovering over Tippett/Moran. Having said that how many pre-seasons does one need to get their body right. Needs to show durability in 09.

Jericho...sold!

Johncock trade...no way. Throwing in a borderline player in a crap team doesn't affect the trade too much. Pick 22 not high enough. The caveat is whether Johncock actually wants to turn up and play 100% next year.

Rutten for Didak...sold!!! They wouldn't do that in a million years. Rutten's stock is slowly declining, Didak's on the rise despite his misdemeanours.
