Well done to Daniel Rich, he has been a very consistent performer all year and well deserved as this years Rising Star.

Excellent showing by Otten and interesting that 2nd & 3rd were taken up with defenders. For many years, punters have claimed that it is like the Brownlow, a midfielders award. Not so this year!

Congratulations

for Melbournites If anyone gets a chance ...have a look at todays the Herald Sun and look at who Mike Sheahan thought would be the top 3

All vics .....no Ottens, no Rich and Callum ward and Hurley (10 games)???

Seriously I think Sheahan along with Caroline Wilson have lost touch with the national game this year .........they both have been excelent journo's but they have been sadly out of touch on most issues for the majority of the year

I think the judges got it right here, Rich clearly the best but Otten as 2nd which is fitting for the great year he had had. Pears 3rd is also a great achievment for the best young KP defender in the comp and by a long way too.

Well done Andy!

Well said NikkiNoo. Just shows the pool of talent we have in our ranks. Great boost heading into the finals.:)

Laughable. How he couldn't even include Rich I do not know but I can't say I'm surprised.

Great effort by Otten and may well have won it in another year. :thumbsu:

Rich was the rightful winner and its rare for a first year player to play so well week after week - as Andy has himself.

Congratulations to both of them for their fine performances and a little pat on the back for Dangerfield as well for snaffling a few votes. :)

Personally I think it's better to come second. Otto won't be forever referred to as a rising star winner, he can play his game without labels for a few years until he's an AA.

Congratulation to both players :thumbsu:

Congratulations to Otten and Dangerfield. All morning on Melbourne radio I heard pundits putting Beams and Ward in the 2nd and 3rd places.
