People laughed at me when I mentioned Worpel's name in the 17 Draft.

Callaghan is the way.

Which pick did you want to use on Worpel? Worpel is a limited player in my opinion and what we see now is basically the best we will get. Not too dissimilar to Powell-Pepper.

Do you get laughed at a lot? :stern look

Callaghan is in the top 5 or so, it is not really going out on a limb.

As to which players make it and which don't, I think anyone who thinks they can tell who is or not is deluding themselves, there is nobody in the industry that has got remotely close to being able to predict it and there is no real science to it, for whatever reason it clicks for some and not for others. You can pick anyone out of a hat and say they are going to be the best in the pool, but on what basis someone makes that prediction is either cause to give interest or cause to be laughed at. Watching some youtube highlights isn't going to give you the information to make an educated guess. If it was that easy, clubs wouldn't * it up so frequently.

I think people just need to be realistic. We kind of remember the calls we get right but tend to forget the ones we didn't.

Averaged 22 disposals plenty of tackles a game last year and was played out of position all year. I reckon he goes alright.

#1 picks that had much fanfare imo:

Josh Fraser. Was getting written up for 2-3 years prior as this new age of amazing player. That was before he was even attached to a Collingwood selection.

Luke Ball. Was getting lots of writeups, his family connections to Hawthorn were spruiked as was his intellect. Only trouble was hawks didn't take him.

Adam Cooney. Got a bit of press, Sheedy was hanging around watching him testing like some lolly carrying trenchcoat wearer. Pretty sure * did their obligatory sh*t trade attempt (probably offered the dogs a 51yo Paul Van Der Haar) to try and get the pick off them.

Bryce Gibbs. Another one getting written up for 2 years leading in the draft and a BFNAAK as a bonus.

Matthew Kreuzer. Kreuzer Cup as above.

Christian Petracca. Unanimous #1 pick leading into the draft. I remember a saints mate wondering if he seemed a bit too arrogant and it was a fair question. In the end, not a problem they had to deal with.

Cameron Rayner. Lower level of fapping but definitely caught the tailwind of the 2017 Dusty train which lifted his rating a bit.

Yeah on Rayner though, there were a lot of question marks over his Tank. IIRC were some calls for LDU at #1, my Lions mates were certainly on the LDU bandwagon!!! Was a fair bit of hype over Slevo too until his heart condition surfaced. Funny how things turned out in that we have LDU, Slevo, and Bonar all high picks from that year.

If he was played out of position in a poor rebuilding side there is a reason for that. I’m not saying he isn’t any good, but I think he is limited going forward.

He wouldn’t start in our starting midfield and we just won the wooden spoon.

Did a quick side by side comparison of Twomey and our own Souup, I put the tiers in brackets next to the player.

As you'd expect some rated similarly and others very differently. Love to understand more on each of those as to what they see/don't see etc.

I'm preparing to play draft bingo on Nov 24. I think I'll probably play Souup's card!

I accept that Daicos vs JHF is a matter of opinion but the rest of Twomey's list compared with Souup's looks very much like a safe bookie's odds for the Melbourne Cup. It's very vanilla.

I think you will find Twomeys looks vanilla because most know he is not far off the mark & a lot of the people on here stick around his suggestions which is why its vanilla. However @Soupp is his own man & l personally like the different take....He was high on Horne-Francis when he only had the one name.
