If you say Butcher can't handle city life or losing desire to play AFL like Nathan Ablett, I can say that Trengrove could destroyed his foot/ankle similar to Geelong's Egan and never play AFL again. This does not make any sense. That's why I don't comment on your statement based on this reason.
It makes as much sense as Trengove going home just because he is from South Australia.
I agree with you that Trengrove is a good player - but NOT yet a gun at this stage. MFC have Pick 11 and this frees up a pick on quality mid rather than Pick 18. Therefore, Butcher is worth considering at Pick 2.
If you are saying that Trengrove is a gun, I think you are overrating him abit too early at this stage.
Go watch or ask anyone who did watch him this past weekend for Sturt and they will tell you the same thing, Jack Trengove is a gun.
Butcher at Pick 2 based on "quality needs"![]()
If we want quality, we will go with Trengove.
Butcher at pick 2 makes absolutely no sense when we can grab Talia, Panos, Carlisle, Black or Griffiths at 11.
Why take a risk on Butcher at 2 when we can get a sure-thing and better Jack Trengove?
