I'd say they need more than KPF's so a McDonald and Hollands makes more sense to me and is what I'd be doing, it'd be North that would be the concern for taking him imoIf Adelaide get pick 2 for Crouch, do they take McDonald and Thilthorpe, or is one likely to be available at pick 4?
Tom Joyce isn’t out of contract. We typically give our kids four years on the list before delisting.
Our recruiters rated Joyce as a 17 year old, his top age year and 2 years in the system have been marred by hip injuries. If he overcomes this, he might yet show he’s a player.

Honestly can't justify it any further than I feel Macrae is more highly rated at AFL Club level from what I can gather, probably has a few more advanced athletic traits that suit the style of Winger Longmuir has described (to paraphrase, speedy). I'd personally go Carroll if I was in the situation as well, so it could well be me over thinkingInteresting that you've taken the Macrae road for the Dockers over Carroll, any reason why?
Baldwin would be a super ballsy pick, with his injury history and size and play style im not seeing him being much of a difference make at AFL levelView attachment 995859
Post finals two round phantom, I have no idea how accurate any of this will be. It's weird that as the year has gone on I've become less confident with what I'm putting out in general, trying to predict how many and which vic kids will slide is ridiculous and can be highlighted byt the varying rankings of a guy like Eddie Ford (although I'm pretty sure I've got him higher than anyone else) some have him around 20, some around 30, some not even top 40, this is causing me to go back through footage and try and see what I'm missing but I end up liking him more. In a similar sense I've been trying to find what's so likeable about Archie Perkins, I think he's got great characteristics but don't see him as any more consistent than Ford, ah well. I like to think I half got these picks based on needs and best available, with FA compo it'll be interesting to see how it changes things.
Yeah I think with the options available Carroll is the best left from a Freo perspective. Macrae feels like a Freo pick though, and I really like what he brings to the tableHonestly can't justify it any further than I feel Macrae is more highly rated at AFL Club level from what I can gather, probably has a few more advanced athletic traits that suit the style of Winger Longmuir has described (to paraphrase, speedy). Without a doubt, the injuries are the big reason for the slide, and tbh Gold Coast aren't likely to take 3 picks so it was more a way to show "This is about the area I'd consider him, Suns are a team that can afford to take on the development risk".Baldwin would be a super ballsy pick, with his injury history and size and play style im not seeing him being much of a difference make at AFL level

Injury should be your only concern mate,he's got all other bases covered.

If his knees stand the AFL test I have no doubt you'll be wrong...and that's just my opinion. He is a pure key forward, tell me how many best 22 key forwards in the AFL currently are under 195cms? AFL defenders are bigger, faster and stronger then what he has had to play against so far in his career. Unless he dramatically changes his game and turns into a 3rd tall type I don't see him being a player of impact. That's just my opinion and im very happy to be completely wrong
Im happy to bookmark it for the future and i hope im wrong for the kids sakeIf his knees stand the AFL test I have no doubt you'll be wrong...and that's just my opinion.

When key defenders are regularly 198+ these days i think it will make a difference. He jsnt going to be anywhere near as dominant in the air as he is as a junior. Going to need to get some more tricks in his bag.Buddy Franklin, Jeremy Cameron, Josh Kennedy, Jack DarlingPLAYERCARDSTART5Jeremy Cameron

PLAYERCARDEND, Jack Riewoldt all on or under 196. Most are getting on but these make up a large chunk of the dominant key forwards over the last 10 years. Don't think Baldwin's height will be an issue in the slightest.PLAYERCARDSTART13Taylor Walker

You really think 3 or 4 cm's is going to make that much difference? When key defenders are regularly 198+ these days i think it will make a difference. He jsnt going to be anywhere near as dominant in the air as he is as a junior. Going to need to get some more tricks in his bag.

Yep, because it can translate in to a significantly longer reach. You really think 3 or 4 cm's is going to make that much difference?
Nope.Yep, because it can translate in to a significantly longer reach.
Especially if the player has a longer arm span than his height.
Athleticism is important to, of course.
It's possible, but we may also try and bring in a 2nd, second rounder. Whether through trade or borrowing from the future and get both.Re Fremantle and our 2nd pick with a potential NGA bid, I would be tempted to pass and select either Neale or Callow.
I really like Walker but HBF is a position we are deep in, so the club would need to be confident that he can play elsewhere. It feels likely to me that we would be taking a player such as McGuinness or Carroll or Cook at our first.
In contrast, ruck and forward/ruck are positions of need and our 2nd feels like it is in the range for considering Neale and Callow. It also feels like it is the very earliest pick Walker is likely to be looked at, and potentially just to draw our matching bid.
Thoughts?
Which both? It's possible, but we may also try and bring in a 2nd, second rounder. Whether through trade or borrowing from the future and get both.
Walker and one of Neale or Callow. We really need pace as well and good kicking. He gives us both of those things. Getting Callow and Neale wouldn't be bad either. Be curious to see which way Freo go, especially if, as you say, we pick up an outside runner/ hf in the first round. Sounds like Fyfe will spend a fair bit of time forward though, so that may influence their thinking a little and Walker is seen as a pretty good talent by many, that we may not want to pass on. Now i'll get the splinters out of my rear end.Which both?
Unless he’s playing as the 3rd tall, he’s going to be coming up against AFL standard defences, where most players are talented, and many significantly taller.Nope.
Talent beats all of that...the only thing that will stop Baldwin being a first class AFL Forward will be if he hasn't retained his former leap and mobility after the knee issues.
Opinions be like...Unless he’s playing as the 3rd tall, he’s going to be coming up against AFL standard defences, where most players are talented, and many significantly taller.
How’s he going to fare against Brisbane where our two tall defenders are Harris Andrews201cm and Jack Payne 197cm.PLAYERCARDSTART31Harris Andrews
