I'm guessing/hoping that Haddrill will be ruled out/rested this Sunday. There is no real identified match up for him anyway, so he'd be better for another week on the sidelines. My changes for this week would be;

IN: McManus, Schammer
OUT: Haddrill, Smith

Dylan Smith had a shocker last week, he can't kick 30metres let alone 50. I'd bring McManus in on the proviso that he plays in a Back pocket. i reckon he could resurrect his career playing from a back pocket, until Roger Hayden is available &/or James Walker.

I'd bring in Schammer just for his pace, which we clearly lacked last week in the midfield. Watching the ABC's coverage of the Subi game last week, Schofield just disn't get enough footy for mine....& yeah I know Schammer didn't play last week as Claremont had the bye, but he's the only player with pace who we could bring into the midfield. Gilmore would be logical, but i think he is the next TLO, & won't get much opportunities this year.

Would give Webster another chance...was brilliant against Pies but woeful last week....must play solis this week or Dodd is back in.

IMO

Don't bring McManus back, I'd much prefer having Dodd in the side. I'd also love to see Spud Murphy having a run at FP or HFF with our new look forward line.

You forgot about Dodd.

Out: Haddrill Smith Grover Siegert Webster
In: Dodd Gilmore Schammer Dunn Schofield

Haha. As if that many changes would ever take place. Though on performance. Smith Grover Siegert and Webster had very ordinary games. Haddrill is injured, and there are no obvious matchups for him in the Hawks forward line.

I'd put Polak on Roughead. Dodd on Franklin. Parker on Williams. And leave the rest to sort themselves out. Or perhaps swap Polak with Dodd. Whichever of Roughhead and Franklin is quicker would get Dodd. Polak to take the slower taller type tougher type.

Maybe instead of Schofield we could play Murphy. And instead of Sandilands Johnson. I think fremantle should just concede we are going to lose the ruck. Let longmuir do his thing and have Johnson back him up when he needs a breather.

I reckon Grover has done enough in the 3 or 4 weeks prior to last week to keep his spot. Siegert and Webster play Subi better than they play other grounds, but if anyone has to go I reckon it would be Siegert before Webster.
The Hawks have a good record at centre bounces and stoppages - they have Sam "the extractor" Mitchell... so that alone may mean young Dylan keeps his spot. Despite his poor kicking, he's great at getting to the bottom of the pack and getting the ball out. I do think, however, that he will be lucky to survive the chop.
Yeah, so while there are a few who would be counting themselves lucky to not be playing WAFL this week, I can't see there being many changes at all. I also reckon that Schofield will be brought in as soon as they reckon he's sufficiently match fit, regardless of his form for Subi. IMO.

With Hadrill out and Parker likely to take Williams we need another tall defensive option and I'd like to see Warren get a run. He's a better defender than Johnson and Johnson won't be needed in the ruck if Sandilands plays.

Franklin would murder Dodd in the air. Dodd would be a good option to tag Hodge though. Gilmore deserves a run sometime soon, and would bring some much needed pace to our backline. What's Dunn done to warrant selection?

I think you're right, which isn't fair on the guys who have been playing well in the WAFL.

He was good last week from all accounts. Might be a surprise selection to take Hodge. Probably depends on whether Sir Robert comes up.

I can't see too many changes happening.

I reckon One Melee will come in for Siegert/Webster (probably Siegert) and maybe Schammer for Smith.

Geez it makes a difference when you have a modicom of depth.

Ummm are we going to see two sets of rules for our old codgers?.

Schofield come in when you're fit, don't worry too much about form.

McManus = scrapheap, don't care about your form.

I'm not supporting either player but a consistent policy is required as this could all end up in tears.

Wholesale changes are not required this week, only really need replacements for the injured.

Doesn't Hodge play in their backline. Rebounding HBF or back pocket.

Yep, He needs an accountable player though. Dunn would be an ideal match up IMO and would need to be minded himself.

You will probably find that is why he has been practising Hodges role in the backline at the Sharks instead of being in the midfield where everybody would expect him to be played.

All conjecture on my part though.

I heard on SEN that McPharlin would be out with injury. Any confirmations/denials?

Haven't heard that one as yet - but then they have been playing cloak and daggers with all injuries this year. Didn't McPharlin come back on after he twisted his ankle v Ess? Maybe they figure they'll rest him "just in case" and give young Spud a run.

I was happy to see Macca get dropped early on, but his form in the WAFL has been great and he is deserving of another run. After the disappointing effort on the weekend I think we might be able to find room for him.

I just think that if we rotate players in & out on a shorter frequency it will give them better drive. They have to play every game like it is going to be their last dammit.

If Luke is out...alongwith Haddrill, Walker...this game is a real danger game with the Hawks pace.

I reckon if Luke is out....I'd be bringing in Murphy for sure & hopefully he is played out of the goalsquare.

The difference is Schofield has pace and excellent skills. Both needed in the team.

McManus doesn't.

Would like to see Lord Bryon be given the challenge of a defensive role similar to what jimmy has been doing. He mite need more strings to the bow because with BB Schofield into midfield - spaces are limited.
