High expectations? I have no expectations of him, again he's had 9 years and to have not "broken out" yet means he never will.

It doesn't matter who he was compared to, the fact is he's of absolute no use to the Melbourne Football Club and I'd prefer to start developing a Fitzpatrick instead of the list clogger in Miller.

You still haven't given me a reason as to why we should re-sign him?

For Goodness sakes, look at JPOD people are creaming at him and he has half the talent (and i honestly believe this) of miller. There are certain forwards that can do well just need good feed.

He can be a very strong mark, yes i understand that he has been at the club for 9 years, are you going to realise that his development was stuffed up courtesy of putting him in the back then forward then back then forward. Give him a good 10 weeks in the forward line with not a 13 year (players age not the time they have spent together) midfield then see how he does, I guarantee a lot better, and before you say watts or another forward can easily do it.

Miller is making them work for it that is really all I ask for in a depth player. If he keeps getting ~4-5 goals in the VFL it is going to make our forwards work.

Matthew bate apparently needs to be slotted in as well but I have no idea where as Dunn has his position in the team sewn up. And who says we cant develop fitzpatrick as well, but if miller has the leadership that has been touted, that cannot be taught, thus we cant afford to lose him.

It is great having a leader in the seconds that can help our lads when they go down there. Although Casey's captain may be a good captain etc, there is a reason why he is not on an AFL list and Miller is.

I'm not arguing for or against Miller but JPod is a one trick wonder. He was blessed with great delivery from some great mids but teams have figured out his style. Wait until mid 2011 and then we see how good he is.

He may have been stuffed up by being put back under Daniher but the last 3 years under Bailey he has been played as a forward and still struggled massively. Also how you can say Podsiadly has half the talent of Miller is mind-boggling, yes he's got a sensational midfield kicking to him but his hands and his contested marking ability are extraordinary. Pods is a traditional FF, he leads straight up the 50, marks and goals, Miller has nothing on him. Millers hands can be very good I agree but his hands can also be absolute garbage and it's that inconsistency that costs him big time, his set-shooting while it has improved is still poor.

So it's Miller's fault that our forward line is functioning at AFL level? Oh please, just because the bloke is playing well in the VFL and our forward line is functioning well don't put all the credit to Miller that's just stupid.

You need more than leadership to have a future at a football club and if that's all he's got to hang his hat on then f*** him off because he's had way more than enough time.

Good VFL player, Poor AFL player.

Having Miller in the VFL indicates that Melbourne are on the way up. Only the best teams have good depth throughout their list.

Next year you guys could be flying and suddenly mid-season two key forwards go down with knee injuries or suspensions. Suddenly packing Miller off to the GC seems really shortsighted.

Most clubs would love to have that player running around in the 2's. Only the Pies have that luxury at the moment.

Plus you should keep him if only to have his wife hanging around the club. :thumbsu: Tres sexy.....

Good luck tomorrow. Defining game for both clubs.

James Podsiadly is not in Geelong's 22. Their forward line is not the most impressive in the AFL of all the years at the top it has been their biggest weakness. So his marking ability is extraordinary? Why the heck does he keep missing games then?

I think you along with a lot of the media are SEVERELY overrating Podsiadly, I am telling you right now if i had a choice I would choose Miller every day of the week. No question.

Millers hands arent that bad, you are bringing him down, you have as big vendetta against Miller as someone else on this board has to Watts. He should never have been proclaimed as our big forward because now everything thinks it's that or nothing.

Fault? Very strange way of asking... fault no... I am sure he is helping the forward line because if you know someone is kicking 10 in the ressies I guarantee you will try harder to keep your place.

And I am not saying it is all up to him just helping along the cause. Back in 2006-07 we had absolutely zero depth hence when a few of our players got injuries we plummetted down the ladder. Yze strung sooo many games along because of the lack of depth, who were we going to put instead of him? It is the same thing, I would rather have Miller knocking on the door than another midfielder.

And leadership is extremely important, just look at Carlton, they have the names easily but the lack of leadership in that side (on the outside looking in) is freightening. I would rather us have too many leaders then have too little. Because we could down the road become another Carlton if we keep pissing off our leaders.

Great work again Biff, especially the caricature of Kennett - pretty accurate portrayal too :thumbsu::D
