High expectations? I have no expectations of him, again he's had 9 years and to have not "broken out" yet means he never will.
It doesn't matter who he was compared to, the fact is he's of absolute no use to the Melbourne Football Club and I'd prefer to start developing a Fitzpatrick instead of the list clogger in Miller.
You still haven't given me a reason as to why we should re-sign him?
For Goodness sakes, look at JPOD people are creaming at him and he has half the talent (and i honestly believe this) of miller. There are certain forwards that can do well just need good feed.
He can be a very strong mark, yes i understand that he has been at the club for 9 years, are you going to realise that his development was stuffed up courtesy of putting him in the back then forward then back then forward. Give him a good 10 weeks in the forward line with not a 13 year (players age not the time they have spent together) midfield then see how he does, I guarantee a lot better, and before you say watts or another forward can easily do it.
Miller is making them work for it that is really all I ask for in a depth player. If he keeps getting ~4-5 goals in the VFL it is going to make our forwards work.
Matthew bate apparently needs to be slotted in as well but I have no idea where as Dunn has his position in the team sewn up. And who says we cant develop fitzpatrick as well, but if miller has the leadership that has been touted, that cannot be taught, thus we cant afford to lose him.
It is great having a leader in the seconds that can help our lads when they go down there. Although Casey's captain may be a good captain etc, there is a reason why he is not on an AFL list and Miller is.
