Purple Hordes Pointers for Converting a Relation

Ok here's the story so far. My baby brother and his girl are arriving tomorrow (from qld) to live in WA. He had mentioned that he would like to go to a few AFL games and his gf likes most kinds of sport.

Now the dilemma - they will be living with my mother and step father (god help them). Mum is a flaky Dockers supporter and *cough* doesn't mind the eagles and Stepdad is a Weagles supporter who hates Freo....you know, the disgusting type who takes any chance to bag out the boys in purple.

So I need ideas people and I need them fast. I mean, it's not like our ladder position is a convincing argument. And I wouldn't want to overwhelm them too much in the first few days but I'll be damned if I see them go over to the dark side.

What game should I take them to this year? (wont make the derby cause i wont be able to get tickets)
And I was thinking of buying them some merchandise too....that is always a good one...bribing them.

You'll have to do the wrong thing (in terms of keeping family harmony), and tell them to go for Freo, just to annoy the parents.

In all honesty don't do anything. I know plenty of interstaters who come over and end up going for Freo because they simply can't stand Eagles supporters.

People don't like you pushing things down their throat. Once they get a taste of the overbearing, arrogant west coast supporters they soon see the light.

Start of with a slight subliminal hint by purchasing them a scarf each. Then, when you have those football or derby fridays at work/school they have a team scarf to take. The slime supporters will take care of the rest.....

However us Wallabies haven't won in NZ for close to 25yrs I think, so I dont like our chances and unfortunaetly bragging rights will again go to her i think!

We have won in NZ recently, its that we haven't won at this particular ground in 25 years. No Dan Carter gives us a chance (Way way way off topic!)
