Well done to Grange for getting Matty Eagles he’s the player they need to help them move up the ladder.

Heard his last 2 clubs were happy not to even entertain signing him.

Disagree. Aspley is a well run club.

Obviously they are, but with 300 pokies and multiple full-time staff focusing solely on footy, you'd want to be wouldn't you?

Not sure having a 2nd complex and swallowing up all the junior clubs around you is a good model for footy, might be good for Aspley - not good for footy on the northside.

Surely Brendale could have just been a new club?

Can't think of any other club anywhere in Australia that has a sattelite club like they do, its ridiculous.

Pine Rivers must love having some giant pokie driven club sucking up every kid over 10 suburbs, while their volunteers work hard to keep the doors open.

Probably a worthy discussion about it being another club, satellite club even.
I'm not about to get in the middle of a turf war between Aspley and Pine Rivers but if Aspley proactively chased green space for their club and were actively involved with the development, went to copious dull and laborious council meetings, wrote grants, signed leases, collated funds from their members etc why would they hand it off?

Eagles a really good get for Grange.They need experience and if they can snare Payne as well then things can turn pretty quickly.Ex Crow and Sorrento gun Polholke backed out of joining us which is disappointing however with his brother coaching Sorrento always a possibility.Still plenty of interest from down south and more than happy with early numbers for the first week of pre season last week.

Who we're the other two clubs?

Suggestions were Aspley v happy to see back of him.

Wanted to join Magpies, but they apparently had no interest due to conduct during the year.

Not sure where you get your 'apparent' info, but we have had exactly zero correspondence with Matt regarding season 2022 and there was no 'interest' from him in joining Magpies as far as I'm aware.

Aligned to us in 2021, but never played for us - so complete scuttlebut and barely (if at all) qualifies us as 'one of his former clubs'

Seems strange not to try and sign the best key position player available?

I see Grange is not hosting the AFLW games this summer - big tip is Maroochy actually. Not sure how much that was worth to the club but like to think it will be good for Roos if it ends up here.

Noosaboy commented on here earlier that Poholke not coming - his brother is coaching Sorrento so probably always problematic. Not sure it will impact greatly - possibly allow them to pick up another good footballer.
