Hard to pin it on individuals but **** me Soligo let us down. Our mids all look like recycled players from other positions. Laird our only player who hunts the ball it’s embarrassing. I’d have thrown Curtin in there and given him a license to go for everything.

Makes you wonder about the midfield coaching and teachings, especially when we all look like that in there..

Yeah, the defense mostly held up (Worrell and Keane can hold their head high, once again), but the lack of midfield ball-winning and terrible efficiency going forward killed us

That coaching/preparation from McRae, that leadership from Moore and Sidebottom, and that pure control of a game from midfielders is where we need to get to. It's been a fun season, there is next week, and we're closer to the start of the overall journey than the end, but at times like this it feels like we're miles away.

A midfield monstering from the bounce. They straight-lined every contest, we fiddled at the edges. Collingwood have been preparing for tonight since about May.

Meanwhile we've got Nicks trying to outsmart himself with mind games for a 21 year old coming back from injury, and Laird at first half stoppages.

One of the most botched team selections I’ve ever seen. Michalanney played in a role he’s got absolutely no clue how to play for no reason whatsoever other than a coach shitting the bed and selecting 9 defenders.

A midfield devoid of poise. Including the captain and Soligo who were both pathetic when it mattered.

Send out the search party for Fogarty. Did he even play the second half?

The only positives were Curtin, Pedlar, Worrell, Neal-Bullen and Laird.

Nobody else coped with the pressure. Not one.

Fog squibbed a contest with Quanor straight lining the ball.. did not want to do what was required and hit the footy taking a hit.

Compare to their finals “performance” last year (from a finals hardened team no less), well what can you say.

Sucks to lose. Hope to use it as a learning experience for the better. A lot that can perform a lot better and turn it around next week. Another couple of finals at least will be of great benefit
