Where the hell are all the stats??? Is there any stats?? How do i access them??

Ive looked for 20 minutes and cant find them at all

grrr i hate this damn site

The stats are on the main match report pages.

Very simple though and doesnt show hitouts, tackles, or anything really apart from kicks, marks etc.

the new afl site is crap. Used to be the best web-site on the internet, now its so hard to find things. I dont know who's in charge of the common sense department at the AFL, but they definetaly need a subsitution.

I agree, it seems the AFL have had a brain explosion. Does anybody know if any other sites (eg foxfooty, nine/ten, newspapers)do complete AFL stats?

Port Adelaide use to have one ...if not the ..best independant site on the web for AFL clubs...if nothing more it had a Visual link back to its originos wit old PAFC pre 1997 photos etc....

this new site is visually unappealling , less sophisticated..well quite simply agricultural...Like you wouldnt of actually paid someone to come up with that sh*t... The old site was interesting ..it evoked your interest...the new one is..real bad........

AFL and TELSTRA...please employ the people that made Ports last WWW site and sack the di*k heads that are doing them now......

Bad...real bad.....

Talk about crap... the new AFL website is just that.. and the sub-club webpages too... where is the damn forums?!... Stats, ladder etc.. the bloody herald scum stories have gone etc... really pathetic.. looks like a secondhand money making scheme with no real interest in giving the football community what it wants...

funny that considering we already had a great afl website...

You've probably already found it by now Macca but just in case here's the link Match Focus

It appears in the stats that
H=Handballs
K=Kicks
P=Marks
M=Tackles
T=Frees for
Frees=Frees Against
G=Goals
B=Behinds

WTF?

thanx everyone...took me another 10 minutes to find then....then realised that none of the actual stats shown made any sense at all

whoever made these sites should never be allowed in web development & design again

Essendon must be laughing their heads off by not signing with Telstra.

On all the sites I visit not one person has said the Telstra sites are good.

What a monumental stuff up.

Hey Port Adelaide1870 I would have to agree with you I would have to say that cos Port are my second best team.They had one of the best cub websites on the net.The sportsveiw ones were pretty pathetic and harldly got updated at all unlike the port one that was updated at least everyday.The new one doesnt have as many photos as the other site.

very ordinary indeed..........but then look at the organisation that's running it.........they set the standard for internet access in this country.....just ask any of their ASDL subscribers.......:D

Being the cynical old fart that I am, I'm guessing that the full stats package will only come if some dollars change hands. Otherwise we'll be stuck with this basic stuff that any half decent daily newspaper will carry - much easier to access in a newspapers than on 8/16 different web pages too.

Sadly, the old AFL site (and all of the other club sites) used to be about providing information and promoting the game. The Telstra involvement means one thing - money making enterprise.

Have a look at this:

http://afl.com.au/default.asp?pg=contacttheafl

More than a dozen non-name email addresses that will never get checked. I haven't fired one off yet, but I'll just about guarantee an auto-respond telling me that my email is important to them, and they'll get back to me as soon as hell freezes over.

Note the "statistics" address. I think my above suspicions have some basis now.
