Also has more burst/acceleration than Crouch so provides a better dynamic

The times we've been smashed this year are when we our main midfield group got smashed by their direct opponents in contested ball/ground balls

Didn't like seeing Berry come in and basically repeat what Crouch does, floating around packs largely accumulating uncontested possessions.

He won't get that much easy ball against sides that actually apply pressure so if he's going to be part of our midfield moving forward he'll have to win more than 3 ground balls in an entire match

At least he got involved in some scoring to offset the lack of contested work

I swear some people have subconscious bias about Sam.

His disposal is shit - 80% DE
Doesnt get enough outside, just a tackler - 20 UP
Doesnt hit the scoreboard - 1 goal, 7 Score Involvements
Too much like Crouch - nearly 500 metres gained.

Berry does deserve the chance to prove himself against a stronger side, though - and he’s usually more of a contested player than an uncontested player, so I’m hopeful he’s turned a bit of a corner

The interesting thing will be to see if his fumbles come back

Actually, one of our big issues in the past few matches is not enough outside ball. Our uncontested possession stat has dropped substantially. And you're bagging a bloke who can win it in close and now also get free ball and use it effectively? You're drunk mate.

The only thing Berry needs to improve on is first disposal instead of trying to take everyone on. He got away with that a bit in the past, but they're hot on paying HTB now and he gets caught out a bit because of it now.

Started off terribly. Selfish, lazy. We played 1 QTR and that was enough to beat the eagles. I don't think we would've beaten anyone else. Would be good if we didn't smoke our own supply.

Our uncontested stat has dropped from other players because our mids couldn't feed them with first use. Our main group of 4-5 mids didn't win anywhere near enough ground ball when the midfield badly lost, eg Fremantle

ROB had a dominant game.

He even looked more convincing kicking for goal than some of our forwards.
