FB: Ryan Hamling Nyhuis
HB: Cerra Kersten Wilson
C: Langdon Fyfe Tucker
HF: Mundy Cox Sheridan
FF: Matera Apeness McCarthy

R: Jones Neale Blakely

I: Banfield Brayshaw Giro Hughes.

Out: Walters (susp.), Pearce (inj.) and Ballantyne.

In: Fyfe, Hughes and McCarthy.

Sandilands for Jones if fit.

There's a chance that McCarthy, Ballantyne and Johnson will all play this week. If that happens, and we lose, the fan reaction will be swift and brutal.

I don't think Johnson will play. Ross's presser after the game suggested he will only play from here on in if we are desperate.

Oh well, McCarthy probably gets the Ballantyne treatment and is recalled straight away. Maybe all he needed was a kick up the backside.

Fyfe in, plus probably Duman for Pearce.

Don't think we really need to change the team except for those coming back in from injury or suspension (Fyfe and Sandi). No one had a fantastic performance down at Peel except for Daniel Pearce.

The only one who should really be dropped from the weekend is Jones, but even he had a massive last 5 minutes at the death, so I wouldn't mind seeing that rewarded.

What's the point with these 1 week droppings then come straight in? But we really have no cover. Perhaps Crowden In for Walters?
Mccarthy could be beneficiary though of Cox/Apeness.

After the bye:
HF: Walters, Tabs, Apeness/Sandi
FF: Matera, Cox, McCarthy

Pretty decent firepower

Obviously wont and shouldnt happen but Fyfes absence helped us I feel, less predictable. Even Sandi missing was a positive in some respects for the same reasons.

Do you (and others with similar sentiments) have any appreciation for how serious the injury is that Sandilands sustained? He damaged his brain and failed the concussion test by a wide margin this week. I wouldn't be surprised if he misses again, and I wouldn't classify it as being rested.
I was not aware of this. Sounds like an extended rest is best.

Sandi likely needs another week and Sonny gone for a week. Jones might not be fast, but his agression is very helpful - brings the smalls into the game. For those who've been around long enough to remember, Sandi wasn't particularly impressive at first- just need to persist with Jones.

Nyhuis did a reasonable job- let him back it up. That leaves Sonny and Pearce to be replaced. Duman is the obvious replacement for Pearce, if he gets up. Not very physical yet but fast and with reasonable skills. Fyfe for Sonny is a no-brainer. If not Duman, then can't be Johnson - way too slow.

As a rebuilding side, the goal is not to build a best 22, but a best 30 odd. There will always be injuries so we need enough experienced backup in the shed. In this regard, having a few injuries now is maybe not such a bad thing.

Sorry Apeness was much better than Jones. Jones had a good last 5 mins, but Apeness had him covered the rest of the day.

Out: Jones, Pearce, Walters
In: Sandilands, Fyfe, Duman(if inj then Hughes)
Yeah, Ross singled out Apeness as being the better of the two. Jones was good though.

Now that Walters has been suspended and Pearce ruled out for allegedly weeks I'd be going with the following:

Out: Pearce (Inj), Walters (Susp.), Jones (Omitted - Can't have every tall playing)
In: Fyfe, Crowden, Sandilands

Ballas very lucky to stay in the side.
