I only got to see the last half of the last quarter. You could just see what was about to happen. They had intensity and some system, as someone else here said we were waiting for some individual brilliance from Dawson Keays or Rankine

And I think that is where our problem is. We require the magic of a Dawson, Rankine or Rachele.

Coaching structure is not evident - Nicks doesn’t have a clue to solve it and it is why we again just lose a game.

That "loser stench" comes from our foetid, rotten Coach and his conservative stubbornness.

I'll bet that twerp Nicks is wondering "Gee, how'd we lose that; what went wrong?? We had Murphy back in etc etc".
Maybe I was right to get some pushback on my conspiracy theory about Nicks being insecure about Davis but there is definitely some level of insecurity in the guy. Why does Nicks want so badly for one of his favourites to succeed when it's clearly not going to happen? He reminds me of Kern dying on a hill for Charlie Dixon when it was clear to everyone the bloke was cooked. It's just sad really.

I think he drew with fagan and out coached Mitchell tonight. Our decisions forward if centre lost us the game tonight

Mitchell comprehensively nuked Nicks from orbit in the second half. Completely and utterly shut down his gameplan and Nicks had no answers

Both sides are normally in the mid to upper 70% effective disposal range but both were around 60% tonight and just over 50% by foot so the conditions were a real leveller. Lets see back here later this year when we play them especially if conditions are good and our aerial game is on.
That's all true, but partly the issue too isn't it?

Why the F are we playing so many talls, and then doubling down and even subbing out a small forward to compound the issue when the conditions don't suit it.

Staggering decisions.

So now we get to wait two weeks to see if Murphy will go out for Peatling, or if they'll find some other scapegoat to drop instead to keep him in. Pedlar?

Well given he came in due to Peatling going out, you would think he goes back to the SANFL. But we are playing Richmond so Nicks will think Murphy can get some easy touches.

You can drop Pedlar and bring in Draper or Dowling.

ROB and Meek had a pretty good battle

ROB did some good things around the ground and even laid a tackle or two

But can he pleeeeease stay out of the F50? We already have the world's tallest forward line, plus Curtin and Dawson push up there at times.

Then we have a clever crew of smalls who thrive on space.

The last thing we need is slow play entries, giving enough time for the big dinosaur to lumber down there and flap about against our marking targets. There is no player in the league less likely to kick a goal than ROB.

A kick behind play will be fine.
I've noticed we stopped having Tex do inside 50 ruck work for the most part the last month or so and are pushing ROB inside to do it. No idea why, Tex could at least occasionally take advantage and take the ball cleanly and snap a goal.

Agreed, yet another black mark against our inept coach.

In defence of Nicks (spew) it is clear that we have vastly improved our defensive structures and our ability to absorb momentum swings for a long time without incurring huge damage but it seems to happen at the complete expense of attacking which should still be our point of difference.

His pendulum swings far too much in games and balance is hard to find

Not sure about that, we still had ample opportunities to win the game.

Nicks made 1 big error during the game, leaving Walker on

Hawthorn were bad which kept us in it.

In the first half we dominated the air and put together some great ball movement that fell apart inside 50

In the second half Mitchell completely stopped our strengths from the first half and ratched up the pressure around the ball
