Stevic has always been a pro-Hawks cheat. Not that I'm blaming the umpires for the loss (we lost that ourselves), but the prick is corrupt like Pannell was for the Dogs.& 3x 50m penalties.
We didn't make the most of our chances, but Stevic did take control in the 2nd half to be BOG for Hawks
I did not.Everyone seemed to think Davis was going to come in and fix everything.
Harsh.Well at the moment he's a flop.
Nicks does not have to accept any advice or act on any of Davis' suggestions.Unless his role is to observe, do **** all, and let Nicks make the exact same mistakes as last year.
ALL are final shit-calls, made by Nicks. We're picking the same duds that we know aren't up to it. We're pre-planning subs. We're carrying seniors that are liabilities.
It's clear that Nicks is not listening, as per your last sentence above. And a response of "Well Nicks probably isn't listening" doesn't pass the pub test.
Correct.Guy took big dollars to move down here but the coach isn't listening to him
Also correct, at this stage.and no higher ups are stepping in?

Yeah, looks like South Africa will chase down the runs required, eh?What a shit feeling waking up this morning was
More likely, than not. We will never knowDo we win if Bond was brought in to tag impey instead of Murphy?
We have been.We play like we're sedated.
Hence is highly rated as one of the best VAFL umpires... for his ability to influence games.Stevic has always been a pro-Hawks cheat. Not that I'm blaming the umpires for the loss (we lost that ourselves), but the prick is corrupt like Pannell was for the Dogs.
I hope I'm wrong; he's a helluva player (smooth mover, great down low for his height, excellent mark) and will be a gun.I will be staggered
We didn’t have our best night but still got within 3 points of Hawthorn in Launceston - where they have dominated in recent years (I think our win against them in 2023 there was one of their most recent losses in Launceston).
Can’t fault our defence - they were outstanding and kept fighting all night. And that Worrell tackle on Watson was sublime.
Just need to get the firepower up forward firing again.
We head into the bye 9-5 and in the top 4. We have a good run home, with 3 of our 4 remaining away games against the current bottom 3 sides (throw in the Showdown and we have matches against the current bottom 4 to come).
Already, we’ve improved on last season.
I really don’t get the doom and gloom on here.

Because its what he said during the weekI hope I'm wrong; he's a helluva player (smooth mover, great down low for his height, excellent mark) and will be a gun.
But Adelaide is not HOME.
What makes you think he's more likely to stay than not?
In this (nothing about staying, in here):Because its what he said during the week
Article in the Advertiser suggests hes more than happy here and will sign a contract. In this (nothing about staying, in here):

Curtin’s moment of reflection after Rising Star nomination
The 20-year-old received the Round 13 Telstra AFL Rising Star nominationwww.afc.com.au
or elsewhere please?
I fear that you are 100% on the money here. Nicks will get a contract extension for making finals and he will replicate Hinkley's lack of success, wasting a few more years for the club without a premiership.I did not.
Harsh.
Davis does not make the final decisions. Nicks does.
Nicks does not have to accept any advice or act on any of Davis' suggestions.
Your next comment is proof that Nicks does not:

Correct.
Also correct, at this stage.
I feel your frustration but Davis is not the Head Coach (unfortunately --- I actually think he'd be a good choice if the Board ever wakes up). I want Nicks sacked.
Look what Tottenham Hotspurs did to Ange --- he got them that Trophy and about 100 million pounds that go with it from appearing in the Champions Trophy next year
and
they sacked him on the back of his Premier League record after only 2 years.
No success where they wanted it; he's gone.
Our Club will retain Nicks and probably extend his contract if we make Finals this year, which seems likely.
So, we'll be doomed to another few years of his stubborn ineptitude.
Nicks is TEMU-Hinkley without the Win-Loss record but just as many Flags, betcha.
Hinkley is probably a rare exception though. Most coaches who can get their team in top 4 positions repeatedly are often premiership coaches or at least can get their team to a GF.I fear that you are 100% on the money here. This is absolutely right. I sensed it immediately after TT missed the soda. Then, at half time, this felt very real, in that we had killed them for a half without scoring enough and they had to respond and it was unlikely that we could keep it up.The cooked part that loss was that you could sense it coming halfway through first quarter.
We will see but its not looking goodHinkley is probably a rare exception though. Most coaches who can get their team in top 4 positions repeatedly are often premiership coaches or at least can get their team to a GF.
“Nicks is unlikely to get us far in this year, even if we do make Finals” is a completely different set of equation to that “even if we end up with top 4 positions in the coming years, we’ll never win a GF, like Hinkley”.
I don't read it, so I missed that, thanks.Article in the Advertiser suggests hes more than happy here and will sign a contract.
Agree.If he doesn't then he'll cost someone a lot
Tex (in the clear) missed an easy snap from about 25 out in the third. The 2 obvious ones were: TT missing in 1st quarter from 20m out, and Dawson missing a goal just a couple of metres out from goal on an acute angle.
